Video Just For Mav Fans

Recommended Posts

Why is it that even though the Mavericks have lost in the playoffs the past two years people seem to be more interested in them than ever before? The Spurs can't get any respect or interest from anyone outside of San Antonio no matter how many championships they win? It's all Mavericks this, Mavericks that? Strange.

Rick,

I was actually just talking about this with a co-worker this morning. The Mavs are getting alot of attention yet again this year because in my opinion they have the talent to win the championship and alot of the analysts know it.... BUT they haven't done it. Before the Mavs love fest and the year that Nash won his first MVP, everyone thought the Suns would win the whole thing and they didn't, the next year ESPN and most larger sports networks were man-crushing the Suns. When they didnt prevail that year it was a big story because they were loaded up for a championship run. I think (and it kills me to write this, but I am working on being more non-bias since I want to work in sports broadcasting the rest of my life) the Spurs have a true underlying respect in the league because they have won titles and have shown how to do it. Their style of play isn't the popular style in today's league where its all about one player (Kobe, LeBron, D-Wade, etc), they run team ball and don't produce as many high flying highlights. Their defense is looking really good and I am seeing more defensive highlights on Sportscenter of theirs than offensive. I am glad to see the Mavs going more of team game then making Dirk attempt to do it all. With a good supporting crew and a little tweak in the rotation I think this might be the best year we have at getting further. The Championship still goes through S.A. and that is a hell of a task. The Mavs made slight tweaks in the team to match up against the teams like the Warriors or other run and gunners, so that will help down the road. The Mavs have the eye of the league and media because they are either going to come out of this on top and be a success story or fail again and be a good "train wreck" story. Praise them when they succeed, rip them if they fail.... Easiest story in journalism.

Wow, I just wrote a paragraph that actually complimented the Spurs... is it too early to have a beer?

That was well thought out, informative and entertaining. What have you done with UNT_92_Fan. j/k.

The Stars and Rangers will win championships before the Mavs manage to claim a world title. The SPURS might not be the fans choice to watch, but they are a lot of people's pick to win it again this year. If they do they, what will shut up the "you've got to win back-to-back titles to be a dynasty" people.
