It is a sad day all around, for the school, the coaches, the team and the player. I know how difficult it is to try and raise a child with iron hand. You will be misunderstood, and can be charged with child abuse.

The coaches came in with the goal of establishing discipline, and could have been misunderstood. There is nothing like running a program with no discipline. It is bound to fail. Nevertheless, there must be an avenue for a parent to re-assure a child that he or she is loved: an avenue for the child to come in and apologize to the parent for misbehaving.

For the sake of everyone, I hope UNT will, if it has not already, established an avenue for students, faculty and staff to express their concerns. Involving an outside group should be the last resort, after everything else has failed. We should not air our dirty laundary. We are Family!!
