When it comes to being a volume shooter, the first player that comes to mind is 6'3", Dallas Pinkston's, Demarius "Shug" Jones. Jones is a deep threat every time he catches the ball, and will try to do big things in college as he has given a verbal to a program that will be attacking the state of Texas hard in the upcoming years.

"I went to South Alabama a few weekends ago, and after discussing it with coach (Nick) Smith, I decided to go ahead and verbal to them," said Jones. Without question, Jones was going to draw more and more attention as the season grows, but he knows that he will have a chance to play early and often.

"I like it there with coach (Chuck) Taylor and head coach (Ronnie) Arrow. They are great guys and coaches. They told me that I have a chance to start right away, because their other two-man will be done after this year."

Coach Smith adds that it was a strong relationship that helped get Jones to become a Jaguar.

"Coach Taylor has been recruiting Shug since he was at A&M Corpus Christi. He knows what Shug is capable of doing on the offensive end. He will bring toughness at the two-guard position and will have a chance to be a significant impact player."

Texas Hoops Analysis:SHUG has a scorer's mentality from the time he walks out of the locker room until the final horn blows. He can get hot and score in bunches from anywhere on the court. He isn't shy to take a shot anytime from anywhere. He has a smooth 3 point stroke, uses pump fakes well to create space to get his shot off, works well off baseline screens and can catch and get a shot off very quickly. He has improved his ability to create his offense and has made strides on the defensive and rebounding sides of the ball.
