Odus Mitchell - What Exactly are Too High Standards at UNT?
We have only had 4 coaches [I missed Jack Sisco] since 1913 out of a total of 18 who exited North Texas with winning records, Hayden Fry being the last in 1978. Goals and objectives must be realistic and obtainable with a little pie in the sky. Quite honestly I have no idea what we our standard should be, only what it has become . However, expect more are you will get less ,which seems to be the norm for our football program. -

Caponi fired
I’ll say this as well - There are people in my group of 20+ season ticket holders that have held them since 2003 questioning if they’ll renew next year because it’s not fun anymore. It feels hopeless after 20+ years. They’re just saying, I’ll keep supporting basketball because at least we have a real program and coaching staff that we can all believe in through wins and losses. No one believes in the football coaching staff - except Patrick Cobbs - who we might as well elevate to HC. He’s the only one that actually produces and legitimately gives a shit about UNT. This program’s situation is dire whether the AD realizes it or not. -

Caponi fired
I certainly am not making excuses for the termination of Caponi and agree that it was overdue. However I am surprised that our AD and not HC was the one who reportedly pulled the trigger. I owned a medical device sales agency for 30 years and can testify that no one like firing an employee. In fact those who do , unless its a really egregious act, usually wait longer than the should because the real mistake was made by you in hiring them in the first place. Having said that I have never terminated an employ that didn't expect it and in most cases were relieved that the ax finally dropped.- 1

***OFFICIAL UNT vs. UTSA IN-GAME DISCUSSION***
It is obvious that no one is stopping you from voicing your displeasure with the program. I also wonder where you get anyone is happy with the season. As for as the resources, there is no way that you know that to be true, unless you know their NIL numbers and their real budget. Hint, what is reported can be made to look about anyway you want by manipulating the numbers. I am truly regretful that NT is likely not going to be invited to the Rose Bowl and will be relegated to a subpar bowl and opponent.- 1
