I DJ'd an event this evening, couldn't make the game because of it and my gut feeling told me I would miss something special at Fouts Field. I am watching the game as I post. We've just put the game away I do believe.

MEAN JOE GREENE AT FOUTS FIELD TONIGHT!

(Per radio interview he likes what he is seeing at North Texas).

George Dunham of the Mean Green Radio Network did a very nice interview with former UNT & Steeler great Mean Joe Greene at half time and Joe said he was liking all that he was seeing at North Texas. Dunham called Mean Joe what many old time NFL'ers have called him for years, ie, "the greatest defensive lineman to ever play in the NFL." :thumbsup: Mean Joe said he loved coming back to campus to remember his days on campus and also told Dunham that he met his wife at UNT, too.

IMO.............UNT made a giant leap of progress this Game Day being 0 & 5 before kick-off and having this kind of crowd support (20K?) which tells many of us that our fan base is truly growing; also, with the game being televised on local DFW TV cost us some of our usual fans! Hellsbells! Look at the many of us who are posting & watching the game as we post! :blink:

Our enrollment growth will continue at UNT and our attendance at Fouts (and our future new stadium @ the MG Village) will be even larger than ever once this program gets back in the winning cycle. Size of enrollment does matter and we will see more students support in the future from our burgeoning on-campus enrollment.

Game still has a little over 8 minutes and this has been a great night for all North Texas Exes, all Mean Green fans everywhere and the entire......

MEAN GREEN NATION!

PS: Rome was not built over-night.

So lets all enjoy our construction job together, right?

      Next week's ECU game is our last chance this season to sellout DATCU Stadium

      So if you were AD for a day which P4 regional program could you bring in? Hard to get the big boys in Texas to play in a 30,000 seat road game. SMU and TCU will never play us again and Houston has moved on. Looks like Texas State , Sam Houston, UTEP, New Mexico St.,Ark. St., ULL, and La. Tech are regional programs that might draw more fans than flies so sign them up.

      Did he keep him because of lack of $$ to fire him last year? Or was he given another year to add players, make adjustments, etc to see if improvement? I don’t know, but guessing our budget factored into it.

      2025 DC Wish List

      Jeremiah Johnson from La Tech. My #1 choice no to high school DC, they have no clue to the portal and I don’t feel a great source of talent judgement. Carthel I don’t think would come for a coordinator role even for 200k more. He was my choice for HC after SL. if Johnson tells us no, look at the D2 level. D2 coordinators are more aggressive recruiting and better judges of talent. They are constantly trying to sell “snow to eskimos”. Bringing in particular kids from the portal with 1/2 schollys and inadequate facilities filling holes left by transfers etc. They are hustlers AND they won’t be afraid to come in with a hot seat coach, because of the confidence in their own skill . They will be more aggressive, But will adapt to the personnel they have in the cupboard. I’m also not sure we are getting any value from our recruiting gurus and support staff and we may need to revamp in that area for sure. Question our dfw high school coaches and get their recommendations for a DC We can do a little research in the D2 level and save money on a search committee lol
