Last year our average competition total team offense was ranked 74.92

This year our average competition total team offense was ranked 39.4

Last year the toughest offense we faced was Texas with a ranking of 22nd and they scored 56 on us.

This year we have faced Arkansas ranked 8th and Oklahoma ranked 11th, and we meet each when they were fired up for a dominate win.

Last and maybe BEST the worst offense we have played this year is ranked 66th which is 9 spots better than the Average Offenses we faced last year.

Here is a table: Research

Take it how you want, but when comparing our defense this year to last yest the comparison is not Apples to Apples.

We also need to consider that the games are longer and more plays have been run against us. This is going to inflate both the offensive and defensive stats. We are not as good as our offensive stats show. And, we are not as bad as the defensive stats show.

I think the difference between this years D and last year is the number of big plays against us. Cut those down and things get considerably better.

That being said, our D has not been an asset for several years now.
