I consider myself somewhat of a uniform guru, I have had in interest in them since I was in elementary school. Here is what I think of the uniforms of the prefessional Dallas teams.

Cowboys: Classic. Some things should never change. I just think they should wear the blue jerseys more.

Stars: The jerseys with the Star outlining the jersey is different. However, I always liked the first ones they had. The Home jerseys were great, but the roads were plain. I would go back to the home jersey and for the road jersey, have the green with the thick black stripe from the top of the shoulders all the way down.

Mavericks: Should have stayed close to the classic "M" with the hat. They should have made a slight change to the uniforms, and kept something very close to the hat logo

Rangers: The old dodger-like blues were great, but they were right to retire those when they moved to the Ballpark. The following red uniforms were excellent. Bright, sharp, stylish, and sleek. They made a HUGE mistake to go to the current blues. Anaheim moved to the all red uniforms, and they looked good, even if they didnt win the World Series.

Burn: Never really seen them.

Sidekicks: I haven't seen what they are throwing out there now, but I liked the old green ones they used to have.

I'm a uniform "guru" too. In the book, Baseball Uniforms of the 20th Century, I helped make a lot of corrections and my name is on the credits of the Second Edition for having helped.

Why did North Texas get rid of a picture image in favor of the script "North Texas?" I always thought a picture spoke a thousand words. I have tried to get UL to get rid of the unimaginative "Ragin' Cajuns" and do something with the fleur de lis to highlight the Acadian-French identity here.

Cowboys' uniforms of the 70s looked better than they do now. The numbers looked different. Now they don't look quite as good as they did when they were widely regarded as "America's Team." The current road uniform is too gaudy. It used to be silver numbers on blue and it complimented the home uniform.

Anaheim definitely won the World Series. Until this season, they had a history similar to the Washington Senators/Texas Rangers, so I know what you've been through. When I got married in 1981, the groom's cake was made to look like the California Angels cap they wore at the time. My wife swiped my copy of Sport Magazine with Rod Carew on the cover and had it made.

One thing I don't like about Rangers' uniforms (and other MLB uniforms) is the patch (er, "nameplates") they use for the players' names on the back. That looks so cheap, and looks worse as the season wears on. It especially looks bad considering that one of your players is being paid $25 million to wear one.

My favorite all-time NFL uniform is the Los Angeles Rams' 60s unis when the colors were blue and white. Baseball is the Chicago White Sox. The Chisox unis would be perfect if the number was taken off the front and they wore only one design of home uniform (pinstripes) and one road uniform. NHL has to be the Canadiens. I wish they went back to where they wore the dark uniforms at home. They stopped doing that in the early 70s. For basketball I like a traditional look.

I liked the font of the Rangers' logo in the 70s, except for the large "S" at the end of "RangerS." There was some 19th century look about it, and it was unique. That would look good. I grew up with the Dodgers, so I liked the Dodger-like unis as well.

The blue and white rams uni's are tight, too bad they wear blue and gold now, not near as attractive.

As for the Cowboys, I agree, the original "double-star" (not the one that came out in 94) is the best in franchise history.

My favorites:

MLB: The St. Louis Cardinals have a classic uniform.

Rangers: Hated the Dodger look, maybe because of my dislike of the Dodgers! I will have to go with the red uniforms of a few years ago as my favorite. Of course the baby/powder blue with the red, white and blue accents of the 70's takes me back to my childhood when I thought they were the greatest.

NBA: Not much stands out to me. I do prefer the new Maverick's uniforms over the old ones though.

NFL: The Cowboys' 70's era uniform was the best by far. JJ has messed up a good thing. The Bears have a classic timeless look.

NHL: Montreal and Chicago with the chief head are classics.

UNT: I know a lot of you all despised the Fry era Flying Worm uniforms, but they are my favorite. We still need to redo the current helmets with something other than the script North Texas on the side.

Best Rangers : The mid-late 70's old script with cowboy hat/baseball logo.

Best Mavs : mid-80's, new style too avant-garde. They look like a completely different franchise (not necesarily a bad thing).

Best Cowboys : late 70's-early 80's whites

Best Stars : old road (all black with green/gold)

Top 5 NFL 'color' uniforms : 1. San Francisco- rich color scheme. 2. Green Bay- still the best green uniforms ever. 3. Oakland- Just Win, Baby. 4. Tampa Bay- a great look. 5. Pittsburgh- the logo on one side helmet is unique

Top 5 NFL 'white' uniforms: 1. Miami- best of all teal/turquoise uniforms in sports. 2. Dallas- the America's Team look, NFL should forbid Dallas from wearing blue. 3. New Orleans- excellent use of black/gold in moderation. 4. Cincinnati- only thing the Bengals have ever done right. 5. Cleveland- classic look, NFL should forbid them from the ugly brown uniforms

Baseball look that neds to come back IMMEDIATELY: non-Yankee pinstripes (Cubs, Padres, Brewers)
