This is UA's new(I assume from unfinished construction on the east side) track stadium where they have tons of national skins on the wall to show for. The campus was just outstanding in the way that it all is seated on a foothill/mountain side location. You can just see the football stadium in the background and when you drive in from the north after missing the exit from the south, you make a left turn and look down into the football stadium. Just incredible. This state mandated campus for me ranks 2nd behind Oklahoma State in beauty and functionality, and probably second behind Colorado in all out cool place to be.

UA basketball arena which there isn't a bad seat in the house. Beautiful facility but the one place you have to see is their Hall of Fame in the lower

level. To walk in and see a full size poster of John Daly and one of his huge gold clubs and all the SWC trophy's, national track champoinships etc. It's just an incredible display of hardware in this place.

Walking up to the football stadium. Notice the temporary-looking bleachers sitting atop the roof? Yeah, people were actually sitting up there

if you can believe that?

UA marching band. A very large, standard college-sounding band that entertains with recognizable songs.

Mean Green coming out for kickoff. This stadium looked as if it had a track in it at one time and from the 14th row I was less than half the distance from the field than I sit from the field in Fouts. Great seats to watch a train wreck from.

Road warriors.

I had always wanted to see a game in Fayetteville and when I first saw the schedule back in February I made the request for vacation to make this trip like I did to go back to LSU two years ago. I was amazed at how easy it is to get there from Texas also. Nice, easy drive up and the scenery once north of Fort Smith is incredible. Overall a great road trip and I highly suggest those who didn't get to go this time try and make it if we ever schedule them again.

Great shots Rick. The metal bleachers at the top of the current stadium are temporary until they add new seats. The overall plan is to take the stadium to 85,000 with the next 10 years.

The baseball stadium is pretty new as it was built in the last 4 years. The first year of the new track I believe is this year - did you get a chance to go in and see the Indoor track facility?

Bud Walton is incredible with the way they built it. If you are sitting on the top row, you are no higher up than the top row of Barnhill arena (the old bball place). With the Bud packed for games, the sound is deafening. Did you get a chance to walk through the Broyles Building at the north end of the football stadium?

You know they had the baseball stadium all lit up and the water fountains going and all but I was driving and didn't get to take a photo of it but man it's freakin nice. And as I posted in another thread, I was sick and exhausted and probably just lucky to be there so I didn't get to walk around as much as I would have liked to. I bet we spent an hour in the basketball arena alone. If we ever go back I'll make sure to see the rest of it. If I were a recruited athlete taking a visit to that campus it wouldn't take me two seconds to say yes if offered. All of their coaches are truly in a pressure cooker situation to succeed because facility wise they are lacking nothing that I could tell.

Great Photos and bad ass facilities (thanks rick). You can see why kids go to the SEC and the Big 12. Now why would a kid (not mention any names) turn down the opportunity to compete for a starting position at that type of opportunity?

If your truly bad ass, why would you turn down the opportunity to have those kind of facilities, those kind of fans, that kind of environment every game, to come to UNT?? Don't tell me it's because he wanted to play in our spread offense or in our Mendoza led defense.

If your bad ass, size doesn't matter, regardless of the position you play. If someone tells you your to small to play LB or whatever position, then you prove them wrong, (Zach Thomas, Wes Welker, Drew Tate, Eric Metcalf, Dante Hall, Doug Flutie, and the lists goes on forever)

I guess the purpose of this post is that those facilities are so hard to compete with. UNT has to get that stadium built to try to compete. UNT has to win games, it cannot back down from the games that Fresno State took on for many years. I hate to say it but we need more games like Arkansas every season. Then and only then will the program grow. Non conference losses don't mean a thing and after many seasons, the gap will close (if we can recruit like everyone says we will) and Dodge and Mendoza and the SLC team are as good as we think they are.
