I hope they figure out how to better park cars between now and Oct 13th. Why you start at the front of the row (which prevents you from setting up in the isle until the row is filled) and work your way back is beyond me. That and starting off on the one row that provides the best and easiest access to the rest of the blue lot which gets blocked off after the row is full.

Hardly anyone was tailgating in the green lot.

Go figure.. They put all the $$$ out there, so the common man can't get there.

The festival parking was the scourge. really. It started the day off terrible.

Get there at 11:30... and the row isn't filled until 2:00, so they wouldn't allow the tents to go up int he row until then. They wouldn't allow cars to group together unless they were IMMEDIATELY in a row. Oy.

I arrived about 11:30 in the Green Lot and was literally the first to set up. They let me put my tent up, but did scold me about blocking the aisle. Didn't matter... my tent broke so I ended up taking it down.

By game time, I saw 3 or 4 tents set up and a few others just pulling in and setting up chairs and there was nobody parked next to me. Most of the cars pulled in about an hour before kickoff and immediately went inside.

I'm very tempted to trade in for a blue pass so I can hang out with the cool people and get some more of that Mean Green Punch!

So what's the biggest change from last year? I haven't tailgated so I am really unaware of the differences between last and this year, other than I noticed a very different amount of people in the main lot from last year.

I drove by at 2pm. because I had a meeting to attend on campus and literally both lots were empty. I was shocked because at around that time there were alot of people waiting with their cars to get in. the entire orange lot except for two row were empty and the blue lot was isolated with cars, it seemed so weird for the first home game.

I guess that is what can be expected by playing a no-name team, wait for the the weekend thanksgiving game that will be horrendous....

The 10 dollar lot was full early but the other one ( i dont know what colors are what) was pretty empty for most the afternoon. We need to Fill the one that can be seen from 35 before we fill any others. The students need to be back in the mix in front of fouts and alot of people dont wanna come back anymore because there is no free beer.

-These are all things i heard on saturday

Me personally, I agree with filling the front lots no matter what... other than that I had a blast and can't wait to do it again...

I parked in the $10 Lot early and was able to walk around before a lot of people showed up. My biggest complaint was how the Lot (not sure of the color) where Beerman plays was empty until about 45 minutes to kick off. The Football team and band did their March and I'm sure it was a little disappointing to see a vast, empty lot right before they enter the locker room. I'm not sure what the solution is other than making that the pay lot again, but as a fan I was embarassed at the lack of people. It didn't help that they moved Beerman over to BFE instead of right there by the Locker Room entrance.......maybe they could move him back? At least there would be a crowd.

They really need to relax in the blue lot and allow the people who want to tailgate to spread out an pick their own spots. The blue lot looked horribly empty, what an impression buster! They are all worried about reserved spaces, but if people can't make it to the game a couple hours in advance they should not expect to park in the blue lot mean green club or not. Join the rest of the world most places oversell their lots. Short of fans that need handicapped parking any able bodied people should get there in time to add to the game day experience.

Further more I heard that next year they are planning to sell assigned numbered parking spots in the Blue Lot, not sure how that would work. It sounds like a real pain, if an area is full except for two spots and those people show at 4:30 do we have to pull all our tents down in the entire lane to let them get to their assigned spaces? Would there be an arbitrary cutoff?

Compile a detailed list of how you would fix tailgating, and I'll see what I can do to fix it for next time. Post it here, or PM it to me.

I have made one request to Mandy, there needs to be a better way into the blue lot. I got in through the yellow/green security guard (this is the easiest way to the blue from 35) but not after having to put him on the phone with Mandy. IMO (this is coming from 35)they need to go ahead and let the blue lot passes come in the front between The Turtle shell and The Gateway Center and not have to go all the way around through campus just to get stuck in the orange lot line that was sold out. This was all around 3:00 well before the game.

See what you can get done I just got a "I'll make a note"...

The $10 lot filled up and was probably closed by 3:00. The blue lot was still dead-ass empty, and was not nearly full when I walked into the game at 5:30.

They need to re-draw the line and designate some more space for the $10 lot. That's where you can count on people (me!) to show up.

We arrived at the Blue lot at about 3:15 and were about the 10th car in the lot. Beerman was playing to a huge empty lot. I agree with the suggestion that they make the pay lot larger and the Blue lot smaller, assuming that there's at least enough spaces for everyone with a Blue Lot pass.

I was told every space in the blue lot was sold.

We usually get to the green lot early for a tailgate. Unfortunately, we couldn't make it early for this game.

The green lot does seem to be a little less active in the tailgating department. I did, however, get there early enough to down a few beers and fly high my NT flag-----looks just like your avatar.

If that's so, then we'd have had a lot bigger crowd if they had all showed up.

The blue lot was full by game time, but the majority just came for the game and did no tailgating.

Can someone give a quick summary of the parking options? Or point to some info?

Is Green and Blue only available to Mean Green Club members with season tickets?

What's the $10 lot? Is that Orange?

What's the best lot for a non-season-ticket holder to tailgate in?

Blue and Green lots are season ticket holder lots (with donations) this year. The only public pay lot at Fouts is Orange but is smaller and it fills fast. Another option is lots behind East of the SuperPit (Coliseum) and a very short walk. Also several free lots and street parking around campus.

Good. Maybe the parking lot won't be as full during the games.
