I've got a question for somebody out there.

How is it decided what "big name school" will come to Fouts ?

When the deal was made to play Alabama, for example, did Rick or whoever say, "do you want to play at our place, or yours ?"

Has Texas or A & M ever been asked to play at Fouts ? I'm not talking about Texas Stadium, but here on campus.

I always get a kick out of my non-Mean Green fan friends when I tell them "We play Oklahoma (or whoever) this week. And they say, "Is the game here ?"

Well maybe I need to take a harder look at them, but they just seem to be up and down from year to year, usually losing each year to at least 2 teams they have no business losing to, which I guess gives me hope.

And I see today we have Clemson losing yet another game they have no business losing. Guess they won't be #13 next week.

Body Bag games are not that bad, IMHO, IF you are trying to raise the overall competitiveness of your team. How do you know what the best looks like and how do you know how far you are from the top if you don't play the best.

We've played 2-3 body bag games a year for the past 10 years. Are we better as a result?

I think it makes more sense to play teams we have a realistic chance to beat. Mid-majors and below. And we should play as many former SWC schools as we can.

Clemson plays tough at Death Valley. They won a national championship and have never left the top 25 for long in the succeeding 20 years.

If that isn't a body bag game for UNT, it's pretty close.

When I say I don't consider it a body bag game, what I mean is that typically Clemson doesn't blow out teams as much as you would think and they typically lose to teams they shouldn't. I would much rather play a team like that where we at least have somewhat of a shot. Does that make sense?

Yep. And I'm psyched about that game. I live near Jacksonville, Fl., and go to Clemson at least once a year with the wife and kids.

It's not so much winning that will chase away the body bag games, but an increase in the financial liquidity of our supporters. These body bag games come with a large check. Get the supporters to donate enough to equal the body bag checks, and we won't have to play them. Winning will bring fans, but at what, $10 a ticket for one week, not knowing if they'll come back again? That doesn't help. Supporters saying "Sure, I only have to pay $500, but I can afford to give $1,000" does.
