I am very sorry that I didn't get around to post this last week...but, the airfare from DFW to Tulsa was just $75. I booked the flight and then forgot to pass it along. It is now $125 on Southwest and a little higher on American. I was going on a Van with Brother Brad, the lumber tycoon, but I will be in Indianapolis all week at our National Convention and coming back early Saturday morning...but, hated to miss it.

Anyway, I found this, so I am flying to DFW and then back to Tulsa where it is not to bad a car ride to Arkansas. I will spend overnight at Tulsa and then come back first thing Sunday morning. Nice casinos in Tulsa!

Anyway, the one-way airfare is $49 on Southwest coming home I just noticed.

Anyway, is an option. The NW Arkansas airfare is very high at present.

Sorry, I didn't post this earlier! I just wanted to see the Mean Green in Fayettville. When we played the Hogs a few years ago it was in Little Rock. Zack Mussey's parents went with us in a Van. Zack was hurt on the first play. I just remember how sad we felt for them all the way home!

ParksRick, if you take 412 toll road from Tulsa, it's $2.25. Bring quarters and you can get through the booths quicker. You do get to drive 75 mph and there is almost no traffic until you get Siloam Springs.

GMG99, there are tons of hotels in NW Ark. If you can't find one in Fayetteville, you can find one in Bentonville/Rogers.

Probably so, I just usually drive through Ft. Smith and end up staying there. We typically enjoy staying the B&B and those are all full in Fayetteville and Springdale, but I didn't call Rogers/Bentonville. I will have to try there. We are not sure if we are coming up for the UNT game or homecoming. You should pm me your email and we can do lunch or something when we come.

I am entertaining family/friends at my apartment over the NT/Ark weekend, so I'll have to take a rain check on the lunch offer.

Good luck getting a hotel. Its family weekend a lot are filled. Stay in Oklahoma like me.

I can count on two hands the number of new hotels that have been built in Bentonville/Rogers in the past couple years. Even when Wal-Mart had its shareholders meeting they weren't all booked up here.

Most hotel rooms in NWArkansas require a 2 day stay. Rooms will be booked as far away as Little Rock. One option, is Eureka Springs 45 minutes away, great little B & B's lots of fun.........especially if you like driving around the mountains! I drive to Arlington from Fayetteville every weekend.......around 350 miles 5.5 hours from Denton. Hope this helps. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!

I thought I enjoyed driving, but I am not sure I would want to make that drive every weekend.

I called the La Quinta in Bentonville and they have rooms for saturday night.

One son at UNT

One at Arkansas

Wife and I will be there.

Guess I'll wear a Mean Green hat and Hog shirt.

PS: I love my son, (that's why I'll wear the shirt), but I'll be rooting for Mean Green!

Wear a Mean Green shirt and a Hog hat. You might need a bed pan some day and it would come in handy.

We're in the new Marriott Courtyard in Fort Smith. About an hour from Fayetteville, but an hour closer on the return trip Sunday! Anyone know anything about the parking situation at UA? I got the tailgate info in the mail, but that's it.

ArkSTfan,

I am a UCA Bear and would never wear a hog hat (not sure why my son went there) and it's all I can do to wear a Hog shirt with my Mean Green hat to the game. On the bright side, at least he didn't go to school in Jonesboro!

I just visited Jonesboro and it reminded me a lot of Denton. Arkansas State does not get enough respect from the folks even in their own state as most are so enamored with the hogs.

I used to say I'd never move back to Jonesboro but I'd take a lateral move there if I had a chance.

The thugs have moved into our neighborhood (something just awesome about the cops walking the neighborhood with flashlights checking the bushes as happened Saturday night). They've got good public schools that aren't run by the Federal courts. We had fans complaining about the traffic for the Memphis game who had to drive a whole 20 minutes to get home and put on dry clothes to wait for the officials to finally OK the start of the game (I drove over 2 hours and cussed myself for failing to remember to bring an extra pair socks in the event of rain).

You get cultural crapola like art exhibts, orchestra performances, and plays that you just don't find in small metro areas without a college. You don't get fine dining and probably can't get Chinese food delivered but for a small city it would be hard to beat. I don't like the fact that you've got to drive an hour to get to real airport and two hours if you want to go to an airport with competitive air fare but all-in-all not bad place.

hmm interesting, I live right off the UCA campus. What a fun atmosphere in Conway, especially after last Saturday and the Fireworks going off.

Oh yeah i would not be caught dead in a Hog Hat.
