Not sure if anyone has the Athletic Departments ear, but I think the home opener should be a “Green Out” or “Green Wave” (maybe not green wave…too close to Tulane) or “Sea of Green” where EVERYONE wears green to the game. No white. No black. (Dear God) No Orange. (Please dear God) No red. (For the love of God) No maroon (I will personally vomit on any maroon shirt or hat I see till it turns green).

I know all of us and most people that sit on the press box side of the field wear green. I would like to see the word get out to the student body and the community to show your green at the game. Have the whole stadium bathed in green clad Mean Green Maniacs!

That’ll scare those FAU fans!

1/4 of the crowd AT LEAST will be wearing some color other than green. That isn't counting what ever FAU fans could be in attendance

We try to orchestrate these "Green Outs" every year, and can never pull it off.

What this thread will tun into is a discussion of what color green we should wear, rather than just telling everyone to any shade of green. Then it will go into how many times we change our colors, then it is all bad from there.

The only way we could get one of these going is to start now for a game like Navy. Next we would need to get together with the Athletic Department and raise enough money to buy 30,000 "GREEN" T-Shirts. Then we need to get volunteers to be at the gates and hand out these shirts to everyone that enters the stadium, while instructing them to wear them that day so that we can have a unified "Green Out".

It's been tried. We were on TV versus ULL for a basketball game. People took the white shirts that were handed out and either turned around and took them back to their dorms or put them in their seat next to them at the game. Still a lot of that putrid, disgusting, vile burnt orange in the stands.

I usually wear my white UNT or grey UNT shirt, though I wouldn't be opposed to buying a solid green shirt to pull this off.

Arkansas did this last year by asking all of the fans to pass the word out on message boards and the Athletics home page for a "red out" and then someone or some group bought a ton of plain razorback red t-shirts to hand them to folks coming in that didn't have a red shirt on, and they were pretty much able to pull it off.

Yeah it was something that started during Emmitt's presidency in Fall of '01. To my knowledge it's every Fall - though I think we used to do it on Fridays back then.

Yes, old school Talon here.

Which Green?

Even if every UNT fan in the stands wore green there would be a hodge-podge of different colors. Lets start with getting them wearing UNT gear...and work our way up.

Now if the Athletic Department would'nt have wasted money dressing up Fouts...they may be able to provide uniform t-shirts and make something like this happen. When you play in a hole...I think you need to embrace it, not try and decorate it. Use terms like rustic and venerable.

If we all want to wear green, that would be a good idea, and all of the different colors of green won't be a problem for me. It would be cool to have the whole stadium in green. There was a Hodge-Podge of green shades at the SMU game, but I was just more impressed by all of the green in general.

Most of the work being done on Fouts is donated. The paint job itself is being done free of charge, the Talons painted the new Green Carpet.. in fact, the only costs I know that were incurred by the school was to remodel the bathroom plumbing.

I'm not foresaking lucky shirts and superstitions for green yet. All of my luck is almost used up though, so maybe I'll just wear a t-shirt with every Texas school's logo with a Red Sox cap.

Funny.

Just make sure the background of the shirt is Green.
