Possibly, but I noticed Todge said in the MGI that he flung it around in Dallas because that's what the SMUs gave him.

It would make my day if we had 600 yards rushing against FAU and 2 pass attempts. Give us the run, Schnelly!

We need to realize that these stats were for one game and not a guarantee of future results. How about we focus on getting some W's before we think about setting statistical records?

Seriously. SMU was weak against the pass, so TD and the coaches ate it up. I know a lot of you guys think Dodge's staff at SLC ran nothing but pass-pass-pass. In actuality, they did well on the ground too, if at least enough to open the passing game up. If FAU eases up on the ground too much, the offense will probably do it on foot, even if it's just to keep the D honest.

I don't know if that is better attributed to SMU's weakness against the pass or to our own weakness running the ball.

Gosh this idea of a pass happy offense that so many people think the "Spread" is drives me crazy. I have to tell people all day long to go look at the ALL of the stats in these games and how much running they did compared to passing.

On a side note, a DD supporter metioned to me yesturday (believe it or not, they are still around) how our defense was ranked in the last 5 of the teams in D1 - that by the way drives me crazy too - I had to remind him that our offense has ranked darn near last for most of DD's time here.
