Im guessing ur asking who is the best QB of that bunch & ur vote is Meager ??

Meager's game was nice , but he was just the QB in the best system we have ever had.

Whatever records Meager breaks , I'm sure Vizza or Dodge will break them very shortly there after

Where's the QBs between 76 and 87? One of them probably had the best hair!

There are some good ones in that list for sure. We might want to give Meager a couple more games before we nominate him the best of All-Time.

For some reason I don't think he is picking the best one, I think he might just be stirring.

And the Question is WHY? What is the point of this?

Ieans hasn't thrown a pass outside of practice as far as I know. Cullen Mills didn't do much in his one season here that I remember. Byerly had academic issues or something like that. Steve Warren played safety or something last I checked. Cooley, why did you even list these guys?

I think all the players listed must have played QB in High School. I know Warren & Rexrode did.

Pearl was a pretty good , CORNERBACK... his QB skills ... I don't know

"Tye Rexrode QB 6'3" 200 Comfort High 2004" is a defensive end for crying out loud. Why not add Korey Washington and everyone else that threw a pass in HS?

The keepers out of your list. I added Greg Carter.

* In my 1978 pocket press guide, Joe Stevenson is listed as 6'1" X 158. Believe me, by the time he was a senior, he had not gained any more than 12 lbs, and he had not grown two inches.

I agree with Varsity, you should have included Vidal Carlen 65 & 66. Our only Juco success at QB, 3233 yrds passing in two years.

I was having a discussion Saturday with a long time alumni (I don't know his name, but he's usually hanging around with the exes) about Joe Stevenson. He asked me if I could tell him what Joe Stevenson (who only started the 1980 season) was in the record books for. I was able to answer the question.

Can anyone else?

In 1980, "Joe was able to pass for 1582 yards, and 11 touchdowns, which was the most of any quarterback for the University since 1970." per Joe's website

Am I close?

Wasn't Brad Kassell a High School quarterback as well?

There were a lot left off including Korey Washington (as someone mentioned), Antoine Bush, Arthur Stubblefield, and Matt Phillips that come quickly to mind.

My all time favorite is still Steve Ramsey, of Dallas Samuel High School but in five years, after Vizza and Dodge have had their turn.

By the way, Rusty Hill deserves to be added as well. He only started one year but he had 22 completions to Marvin Walker in the Tulsa game in the early 80s.

Somewhat close. As of the 2004 record book, he was tied with Scott Hall and Rusty Hill in fifth place with 5 career 200 yard passing games. He only started the 1980 season and a few others in the two years before. Rusty Hill had more yards in his only year of starting, but he and Marvin Walker were pretty much the only offense that North Texas had. Joe Stevenson had a 1000 yard rusher (Malcolm Jones, all 5'7" X 160lbs of him) playing with him the year he started.

To me, he was our best ever "QB of color".

With the exception of leaving off Matt Phillips...all of Cooley's list were recruited as QBs and originally given a shot to compete there...the others metntioned, Washington, Stubblefield ect were recruited either as athletes or recievers and DBs

And my vote goes to Hiram Gonzales for throwing a TD at Amon Carter
