Mesa airlines flies round trip from Dallas (DFW) to Jonesboro for around $220.

The flights are on little 20 seat Beechcraft turboprops and make one stop each way, but it beats the heck out of making that journey by car.

Don't wait too long to book if interested, I believe there are only 2 flights per day on this route.

Man, that box I was trapped in sure was stuffy.

Just a few things to note.

  • Airport code for Jonesboro is JBR (knowing that should make finding fares easier).
  • I believe both flights involve a quick stop in El Dorado, AR...grand total of 2h 35m including the stop in ELD.
  • Aircraft are 19 seat Beech 1900's. No flight attendant, no lavatory.
  • These babies are the smallest of the small...so expect a fun ride.
  • On Friday the 14th, the evening flight looks pretty full...the morning flight looks pretty wide open.
  • On such a small aircraft, try not to check a bag. The way aircraft weights are calculated is a little weird and the fewer the checked bags the better.

That trip from Memphis is not as short as you think. It will take a little over a hour. Plus the COPS will be on the road.

I only meant to say it is "shorter" than driving from Dallas or Little Rock. Our team is staying in Memphis and I think most people feel it is more fun to stay there than in Jonesboro.

understatement of the year.
