Well, we've played them 4 times now. We're 0-4. It WOULD be nice to get TD's first win against a team that we, so far, have not been able to beat.

I dissected the stats in insomniacical (made-up word, but not a bad one) last night and posted them in a related thread, Preparing for FAU.

The analysis shows that greenminer is quite right: Our performance overall is a good bit better than theirs this year. We're not replaying the previous games.

The stats strongly suggest that this is the year we send Howie home hurtin'.

Your basis for UNT having a chance to beat FAU is on stats? Common, you can't get away with that crap. Have you watched FAU on the dish? Have you seen what they look like this season?

UNT is going to have play their ass off to beat "the walrus" and FAU. We can't afford three INT's in the fourth QTR. when the game in on the line, to have a chance against FAU.

Mendoza needs to flange up our defense soon or we will quickly be 0-4. Not what I want, but being realistic.

I already know that being critical and "throwing the shrap" on this board gets my ass chewed and makes me the most unlikable person on the board, but I keep it real. I don't have green colored glasses and I don't where five different shades of green shirts either.

I like the black tops that the chicks were wearing in that picture at SMU, however.

I hate to admit it, but Dodgesballs is right. FAU is a pretty solid team and NT will have to play their butts off to send Howie home crying.

UNT has far outperformed FAU this year in first downs, 3rd down conversions, passing yards, yards per catch, completion percentage, total offense, punt yardage, punt return defense, number of touchdowns and points scored.

FAU has outdone UNT in rushing yardage, yards per carry, and points allowed.

Each team has scored the same number of rushing touchdowns: 1. UNT has added four passing touchdowns, compared to 2 for FAU. Their rushing is not anything like what you seem to think it is, and their passing is pretty lackluster.

It would be helpful if you read up on FAU's Saturday game before calling them a scary team. Oklahoma State pummeled them, 42-6, wiping out the good press they got for beating MTSU. Against OSU, they had just over 203 yards of total offense. Their rushes averaged 0.8 yard per carry. Ours, while not good, were basically identical, 0.6 yards per carry. The media reviews of their performance and overall talent and strength were universally negative. Their brand of football is so dull that their attendance for their home opener was just over 11,000.

We have a bye this week, lots of time to study film and adjust. They play Minnesota this week, a pretty good 1-1 team. So they'll have just one week to concentrate on UNT.

Dodge2007, you've got a narrative in your head that just won't quit. It shows in virtually every post. That's your right, and nobody's demanding that you agree with everyone else.

But I think you'll find that if you base those opinions on knowledge of facts (which would include statistics, one of many tools available to smart people) instead of the volume of your voice, your credibility will rise, which should be a good thing.

Just a friendly thought.

BTW, I'm sorry I didn't catch you in time to save you the trip to Hooter's. There's no show this week. But maybe TD will be there having some wings and a brew, and you can discuss things with him in private.
