Their smack talk is beyond bush league...and repetitive. They remind me of the scene from Something About Mary where the dad says "how'd you get the beans above the frank?" and the retarded son runs around the house yelling "franks and beans...franks and beans." Only, in SMU's case it's an entire message board of "franks and beans."

just ignore them.... then, after we win, flood the board with things like

"you guys have a good team, you'll get it back on track"

"Saw some good things out of your team, best of luck with the rest of your season"

"To your credit, your guys played really hard. Tough break"

This will drive them crazier than any venomous statement you could possibly muster.

I thought SMU was supposed to have class. I guess they can't even pretend to have class anymore. We should be above their belittling attitude and just stay off their board.

and condescension. In other words, beat them at their own game. They are the inferior football program here, folks. When was the last time they won ANYTHING of meaning? When was the last time they went to a bowl game? Exactly.

For some reason I can't get my log in to work on their board. Can someone post this for me on their board:

Who told you that lie? They may spend a lot of time shopping at the mall with daddy's credit cards, but class that does not make. A bunch of spoiled crybabies if you ask me. I apologize to the handful of decent Ponies for my generalization. :D

Yep. Punks with (unearned) money not smart enough to get into Rice, Stanford, or the Ivy League. They remind me of the Philip Seymour Hoffman character in 'The Talented Mr. Ripley'.

"Mean Green" sounds like a prison football team. Do they have an extension of the school at Huntsville?

Odd observation... since Huntsville is where they carry out the Death Penalty. But, I guess I can't really fault EastStang this minor oversight... since SMU alum are only familiar with white collar prisons.

You really think that someone that cares enough about SMU sports to post on a message board is the typical SMU fan? That right there is your first mistake.

If the weather is nice, the crowd will be big on The Boulevard. After last week, few students will make it into the stadium. I'd bet UNT has at least 50% of the fans at the game.

I think you overestimate how much people care about this game at SMU b/c you completely overestimate how much SMU students and recent alums care about SMU football, period, regardless of opponent. The typical SMU alum and student is not online talking about football on their message board. I remember sitting at many a games with a group of students who I did not know who they were and were def not the typical SMU kid, and sweating my ass off in my tie and sperrys. I was an anomaly b/c I cared. Not saying that's not truly pathetic, but that's the state of affairs right now. Or at least while I was there a few years back. And I wouldn't get your feathers rustled over what maybe 50 fans say on a message board. If I could change it to where everyone felt like SMU needed to win this wknd, I would, but that won't change. So it might have been an electric atmosphere for y'all last year, but don't expect the same thing inside the stadium tonight.

Yea it is strange how the students don't seem to care. I was at work and I saw a girl in an SMU hat and I asked her if she was going to the game. She replied, "No, we're just playing North Texas." I was stunned, I guess I just can't imagine not wanting to be at every game possible.

Yeah...me neither...

The song is "Headed for a Showdown" and it plays while Roy Munson and Big Ern are dueling it out. We're going to SMU for a showdown where we'll be dueling.

Also, Munson is whering SMU colors and in the beginning Big Ern gives this "I'm so scared expression". It's just funny, try to use some imagination.
