Just got up, got in at 3 a.m. and I am still just as excited about the future of the Mean Green.

As I have maintained throughout the year, I don't care what the score or number of wins, we have already won on and off the field with the press and character that our team will play with. It was great to see the Mean Green honor our school and it's fans and alumni after the game by showing their Talons Out, and singing the alma mater with the band before going into the locker room. All of OU knows we now have "School Spirit". As I told channel 8's George Ribba last night, the outcome of the game doesn't matter, this is only the first step in the right direction because of the change in attitude. Once that is in place, the rest will take care of itself for the future.

The only thing surprising to me in the game is the level of our corner play. I and most NT fans with us would like to know what happened to Dom Green and a few others. Hopefully that will be addressed. With that huge O line the sooners had, they didn't run easily up the middle but made most of their yards on the outside. That was a positive I had to take away in regards to our defense.

Special teams:

Can't complain about this group. Usually this is where we go south with the highly ranked teams but other than a few minor slip ups these guys did a pretty solid job. Truman Spencer has a massive leg again this year. I would like to see our kickoffs at the 2 yard line like OU had. I think I saw one kickoff at the 8, the rest were at around the 20 to 22 yard line.

The offense:

Probably the most exciting thing about the game for us. They are out of sink, and couldn't stay in rhythm. Of course we were way outmatched on the line but often times our QB's had time to throw the ball. But you could tell easily how exciting this offense is going to be when they start to hit on all cylinders. In between plays, even in the 1st qaurter, the no huddle had some of OU's people a bit gassed. We just couldn't sustain a drive. I love the going for it on 4th down there when we got the turnover. That would have been a meaningless field goal attempt in the past, but it made a statement we have longed for so many years by going for it..."I didn't come here to lose".

We are the Mean Green. We have a history of showing patience and staying power. Stay the course and enjoy the season that is college football with the new attitude Coach Dodge has brought.

Rick great line here!!!

This is the truth of truths, for the next two years maybe but we are light years ahead of where we were, overall the attitudes have really changed and it will come together.

Rick is right again.

We didn't expect Dodge to come in and win a national championship in his first year. This team will be exactly what they are...a building team.

It smarts getting smacked 79-10. We limp home with our pay check and continue to grow. We heal our wounds and head for SMU.
