Sure, it was a long evening in Norman, and it was a tougher game that we had thought, but here are my thoughts on the game and Mean Green football:

1. Coach Dodge and the Staff continued to try to work on the offense and score. Once the game got out of hand, they could have slowed the game down to run more time off the clock...they countinued to work on their plays and such. This lead to more O.U. points...but, also brought us so more experience for Vizza and other young players.

2. Personally I agree with CarribeanGreen. I think blasting O.U. for running up the score is wrong. They also had things to work on. They also have their points to make. And, the interceptions and such helped get the game more out of hand.

3. PLEASE...don't start the "jumping the bandwagon" stuff after one game. EVERYONE has a right to post your comments and I understand that. But, can we please give the Staff some time. Don't throw all the excitement away.

4. PLEASE....stop posting on the Utah State website. Why don't we stop worring about Coach Dickey and start putting all of our thoughts and efforts to help Coach Dodge and the current Mean Green team.

5. PLEASE....come to Ford Stadium Saturday. I really believe the excuses might start... "they need to show me something before I go see them". Let's make a commitment to stay together and grow this "new journey" together.

6. PLEASE....believe in the Mean Green. One game does not make a successful or unsuccessful program. Coach Dodge's start at South Lake was less than awesome. Sure, this will fuel those "he is just a high school coach with superior athletes". No chance GoMeanGreen.Com posters. He is special. He has a plan. He deserves our patience and support. "Don't Jump Ship....Row Harder"!

7. I hope no one is offended. That is not my purpose. This is aimed at no one. Just Rick's thoughts that I wanted to share.

8. Champions are born from those who learn to handle adversity.

9. Don't judge our new program by one game OR one season. Be fair. It's a mult-year commitment. They may REALLY need us this year. We may need to help keep the enthusiasm. We may need to be the salesman and saleswomen for the next year. We may REALLY need to sell the sizzle for the next year or two. We need Coach Dodge to know...we are there to support him and his staff and the Mean Green and WE BELIEVE longterm in this program.

10. See ya Saturday and throughout the 2007 campaign.

P.S. If we have any Grand Prairie, Arlington, Cedar Hill, Mansfield area Mean Green fans.... You are invited over for some dogs before the SMU game. We are then going to the Westmoreland train stop and taking the train to the MeanGreen---SMU game. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks,

I was very encouraged by that game actualy! That long TD was the first i can remember in a long time that we have scored against our first game big ticket money game opponent.

I can't wait to see how much GREEN is going to be in the stands at SMU. GMG

Rick, thank you! You are right on point with everything you said. We've now got a stick to measure from, I know the coaches won't quit, the players won't quit, and neither should us fans. Stay positive, stay supportive and help build this thing into what we know it can be.
