I like the CBS one better than this one:

"...while the Sooner secondary will erase the awful UNT receiving corps."

"OU can beat North Texas without throwing a pass..."

"...against a ridiculously overmatched Mean Green team that won't get a chance to see what its new offense can really do until the fourth quarter."

I wonder how this guy really feels about North Texas?

I don't read that as putting down the program. Pete's calling it like it is! Trust me when I tell you the guy knows a lot about EVERY 1A team in the country including North Texas. We've talked Mean Green before. I probably respect him more than any other CFB writer in the country.

BTW, Central Michigan is the best team in the MAC with a really good QB, might not happened, but not a huge upset if it does.

I agree. I usually enjoy Pete's columns very much. He doesn't mince words, and a lot of times, isn't afraid to give insight you might not hear from others. I liked his column last year (or maybe 2005) where he referred to himself as "Pete FIUtak". Pretty funny.

I enjoy reading their takes on the games as well. They don't get all of them right as no one does, but they are usually pretty good at getting them close.

We should start the season with teams like

Nicholls State

ACU

Southeast La.

Right because the most awesome players will be demanding to play against those type teams. Should really help with recruiting.

I'm honestly hoping to just hold them under 50; if that happens, then I'll be more optimistic about our season. In reality, this season won't really show what Dodge can do for us, imo, b/c he won't really have had the opportunity to bring in his players yet. I guess I'm just in a wait and see mode after the past couple of years.

Fiutak may be right but he's taking it to the extreme. He's definitely putting us down when he uses words like 'awful' and 'ridiculously overmatched'.

Historically, OU hasn't scored more than 37 in the last three tries and with a suspect offense (for their ranking) who won't be at full strength, coupled with what should be a decent defense for us, I just don't see them putting up 44. Patrick may not play and Brown definitely won't.

No doubt about the fact that we are going against one of the best defenses in the nation and six points is possible. I think that there will be some surprises that may give their defense some problems and I'm looking for 10 or perhaps 14 from our offense.

At least this time I'm expecting an outstanding effort on our part with no defeatist attitude going in.

One thing I KNOW....we will play with GREAT effort and emotion!

I think we will see it and it will be DEMANDED in all 12 games this year!

I am really excited about seeing Mosley. FFR, have you seen him run...
