What will determine the direction of the storm is an upper level ridge ahead of the storm. If it is strong, the winds will carry the storm north to Texas. If it is weak, the storm will stay straight and go into Mexico.

As of just a few minutes ago, the storm is till baring down on Jamaica with winds a 150 (1 MPH short of Cat 5).

Looks like Dean is going to storm through California, and Texas, and New York... and going to South Dakota, and Oregon, and Washington, and Michigan... and then going to Washington D.C. to take back the White House.

Yearghhhh!

I think I'll take my chances with the "real" Hurricane Dean rather than that jackass Howard. <_<

Current path has it going well south of Texas. The southern tip might be the only part that gets any weather out of the hurricane.

Indeed... espacially after last year's disappointing hurricane season. No deaths to blame on the government.
