I have it by good authority draylen ross and ajani banks are back practicing today. Good news for o and d line depth.

I personally think Ajani Banks being back is the biggest news. If he is anywhere close to being able to step in, even as a backup, we just got better. I know we'd all like to have another defensive end (especially one like Gilmore) but O-Line is my biggest question mark.

Very good news! I hope these 2 are in shape. I noticed that Ross was

listed on the current roster at 6-3, 280lbs. I wonder if he can move from

DE to NT or DT? Banks-- can he work into shape, and learn the new

assignments quickly? I sure hope so. He could be a vaule as a backup OG.

With Gilmore possibly out, and Tye Rexrode recovering from a injury-

I am glad the staff moved Charley Brown from TE/WR to DE. I would

like for Charley to get alot of reps and play time this year! I believe he

could be a real BAD A** at DE! Let him catch the ball carrier, he will

do the rest!

I know that Charley kept weight down some to play TE. Has he bulked up since the Spring?

Brett just confirmed it they're back

August 15, 2007

Banks and Ross back
I just returned from North Texas' morning practice session and offensive lineman Ajani Banks and defensive lineman Draylen Ross were back on the field.

The return of both is critical for the Mean Green, which does not have a lot of depth on either its offensive or defensive lines.

For more on practice and the return of both players, check back on the blog later today and be sure to pick up a copy of tomorrow's edition of the Denton Record-Chronicle. Tomorrow's content will also be on our Web site late tonight.

What is Charley's speed like? I seem to recall him having decent speed. Could spell good things having him on the end.
