Ryan Mccoy

Ryan McCoy is no longer listed on the basketball roster. Anyone know what is up? If he is gone. point guard goes from what appeared to be a strong lineup to Bell and a freshman with injury issues.

It would be nice to get updates from our head coaches on the state of Mean Green basketball during the summer. We go from the recruiting season (April - May) and not hear anything until basketball practice (Oct - Nov).

In particular, how many scholarships are left? How did we fare in recruiting? Teams to beat; and general updates on the players. I guess if we didn't surf the net, we wouldn't have known that Mike Sturns was not returning until November.

Anyway, if McCoy is not with the team, it may have been a result of JJ signing the Louisiana kid after inking McCoy. We also know that Colin Dennis can play the point if necessary and contribute points from that position. Would not be a major loss (if true) in my opinion. Just opens up another opportunity for JJ to find a big man in November.

Lastly, We need a scoreboard at the Superpit!!! (over half court)

Nice catch Grand - anyway I am with Cooley no big loss on McCoy IF and that's a big IF - we can land a big body to replace him. With Wooden and Quincy graduating after this year we badly need some size. I know it isn't easy but we need to land someone who can help us next year in that regard.

Let's also hope the kid from Louisiana is as advertised.

The basketball roster for 2007-08 was uploaded not very long ago. The most likely explanation is that the person who posted the new roster simply neglected to include Ryan McCoy. It would be an easy mistake to make. Having two McCoys on the roster would make it even easier.

I was misquoted! Like Harry & I were saying, Ryan's signing is huge for us at the point position. Ben Bell needs a quality pure point guard to back him up.

The basketball roster for 2007-08 was uploaded not very long ago. The most likely explanation is that the person who posted the new roster simply neglected to include Ryan McCoy. It would be an easy mistake to make. Having two McCoys on the roster would make it even easier.

He was on the new 07-08 roster for several weeks, then he was off, and now he is back on again. Maybe they were just checking to see if anyone noticed.

The web site shows him on the roster so maybe it was an error of omission.

I hope that he will be enrolling because I think that will play a very important part. A 54% shooting average on 3s seems pretty impressive.

I liked that shooting percentage as well...Lionel Brown in his one year here had a real solid 3pt shooting percentage and hit some clutch shots but the biggest thing is he knew when to shoot...if McCoy plays like Brown, I'll be very confident with he and White backing up Ben
