That was bad arse! I watched that probaby 4-5 times. With USC signing that kid in middle school for basketball, there is no reason we shouldn't sign this kid for football :D

***Just joking for all those that were about to destroy me for that statement***

Everyone should take the couple of minutes to watch this kid though...pretty damn phenomonal!

What type of middle school football is as organized and disciplined as this entire team...hell, league. These guys are running Navy's flexbone offense better than Navy...the kid is amazing but I'm more in awe of the perfectly executed trap and lead blocking this kids getting.

My favorite move was the cut back against the fake Oregon where the kid just crumbles in front of him.

And he's clearly 'roided up

I thought it was really funny how all the comments from the website said "you see that all the time in pee-wee ball." I'm not sure how often I've seen those jukes, stabs, feints, and hop steps at the College level, much less pee-wee. He has some moves. As long as he keeps growing, I'd be interested to see where he ends up in 10 years.

FYI

This is Pop Warner Pee Wee football, 8,9 and 10 year olds with a 120lb limit.

I found this cutline on the same video on another site.

LOS ALAMITOS GRIFFINS, 15-0 NATIONAL CHAMPS, Cody Paul#5 highlight runs/TD's/plays from the regional championship game vs. Valencia Park and 2 Championship games from the PEE-WEE Pop Warner Super Bowl in Orlando Florida 2006.

I just now watched the clip and read through the comments. Apparently, these are NOT 8 or 9 year-olds. The clips of #5, Cody, are of him at age 12. I just checked Pop Warner's web site and I guess these teams could have been in one of three divisions (I'm surprised the PC police haven't made them rename a couple of divisions  ):

Pop Warner Division

Junior Bantam = 12, 13, 14

Midget = Age 11, 12, 13, 14

Junior Midget = Age 10, 11, 12

Pee Wee = Age 9, 10, 11

Junior Pee Wee = Age 8, 9, 10

Mitey Mite = Age 7, 8, 9

So, I guess he could have been a 12 year-old playing in the Junior Midget Division against 10, 11 and 12 year-olds. Here's a comment from a person claiming to be the head coach of the team:

Okay, everyone. First, let me thank you all for your comments be they positive or otherwise.

I am the head coach of the team (Los Alamitos Griffins), and of Cody Paul, and I was sent this link by one of my coaching frineds and felt the need to write in and set the record straight (very briefly).

Cody is NOT 8 years old, he is 13 years old. The film fottage you’re watching is from our season last year (when he was 12years). They are of our first Regional game agaiinst Valencia Park (San Diego, CA); and our 2 Pop Warner Superbowl games vs Holliston Panthers (Red and white) and the San Marin Colts (Green and Yellow). We won all three of those games to go 15-0 and become the 2006 Pop Warner National Champions D-2 PEE WEE level (Warner Bracket).

The coaching he received and the players surrounding him were just as great. The prior 2 years, Cody played for another team, along with #20 that first year, and they amassed only 2 touchdowns in those years. The offensive line in front of him were outsized all year, and yet they were able to open up holes that a Mac-truck could go thru untouched. They were, and are, ALL awesome.

In closing please, know that Cody was a part of a GREAT team that did amazing things (last year was our second trip to Florida (back to Back) to coompete for the national Championship). All the players and their families made the coaching experience beyond phenominal. I am pleased, to know and have worked with them all. I do sincerely hope that this serves to clear up any misconceptions about Cody and the rest of 2006 Los Alamitos PEE WEE GRIFFINS!

SIncerely,

Christopher Austin
