Which player do you think we can least afford to lose this year?

(Yes, something to pass the time while we wait for Fall practice.)

This is an interesteing question...I was talking to a friend of mine the other day about how this is the first season where we have not had that one stud player.

Think about this one, nothing against him by any means, but Brandon Jackson in on our media guide. Gone are the Kassell's, Spencer's, Hall's, Kennedy's, Buckles's, Awasom's, Cobbs's, Freshman J-Mo's, Quinn's of recent years.

What we have now, hopefully, are abunch of studs in waiting.

What we have now, are players with that dirty "POTENTIAL" label.

This is an interesting time for NT as we wait for that next group of studs to rise up.

***DISCLAIMER***

I am not saying we have a bunch of bad players on this team, I just don't think we have players on this roster LABELED yet as those we can't do wothout. I AGREE THERE IS TALENT ON THIS TEAM...I do believe there are good players, do not peg me into that hole of bashing the roster

Weathers is ranked as the 20th best FS in the nation by NFL Draft Scout

JaMo is ranked as the 23rd best running back even after the last two years

Monroe is the 43rd OLB

Chapman is 66th DE but would be move to OLB

this is going into the SR. season

I love those guys, and they have been very solid players for us, but I do not think they are MARQUEE players for NT.

You wouldn't put any these players, thhough they are very solid, as some of the best at their position in NT history.

The jury is still out on J-Mo...if he has a HUGE season this year, he could crack that level as an "all-timer"

Just my opinion...maybe some believe that these players are "all-time" NT players, I just personally don't.

That does not mean they have not been solid performers...I like all these players and what they have done for NT.

I agree with you that history and a winning team makes things better. But the only player that had a rating higher then those and that was Spencer.

I'm not one that likes any rating system but people on the board seam to love all of them.............

I'll vote for Jamario, he is the only one on the team that has shown he can be spectacular. There is a lot of experience on this team and I think there are many players that will upgrade their play next year. The fact is though that NT other than Thomas does not have any players that have yet demonstrated the talent to be truly outstanding in the Belt. There are a few players that have been good enough to get some conference recognition such as Chapman, Weathers, Spencer and Holman, but done have earned first team all conference. Think back a few years when NT ruled, there were multiple players who were all conference for a number of years: Hall, Spencer, Kassell, Zuniga, Kennedy, Gardner, Jones, Buckles, etc. IMO, with a few exception there is just not that kind of talent available among NT current lettermen. I think NT will be much better than generally predicted this year but I don't see a lot of individual stars but a group of good dedicated players perhaps playing above their natural talent level.
