The center of the college football universe shifted to Orlando for three days in July.

And with it came all the intensity, festivity, and even craziness that makes college football America's most exciting sport.

More than 400 former college stars gathered at the Citrus Bowl to run,

jump, and catch their way onto a team in the new professional football league: the All American Football League.

ESPN magazine said: "If the AAFL truly does what it intends -- if it creates a professional, lo-fi version of major college football -- it will immediately be more watchable than any pro sport that's in existence." The Los Angeles Times calls it "Football, without the pretense."

NFL Hall of Famer Joe DeLamielleure came to Orlando to watch his son Todd go through the paces. "This is the greatest thing ever to happen to college football," said DeLamielleure. "There are so many great players from so many great programs that people are eager to see. That's why this league is so great."

Here's a crazy idea...

The AAFL actually takes off and expands in 5 years. The first Texas team will probably be hosted in Austin or College Station. UNT finishes off it's nice new stadium and proposes to host the second Texas team for alumns from Baylor, SMU, UNT, TCU, Tulsa, OSU, and Oklahoma.
