Rivals doesn't show that these 3-star guys signed with anyone (of course the Rivals info may have never been updated):

Jake Johnson

Offensive tackle

Brenham (TX) Blinn C.C.

Ht: 6-foot-7

Wt: 370 lbs

Forty: 5.3 secs

Class: 2007 (Junior College)

Courtney Abbott

Offensive tackle

Mayhew (MS) East Mississippi CC

Ht: 6-foot-9

Wt: 335 lbs

Forty: 5.15 secs

Bench max: 400 pounds

Squat max: 600 pounds

Class: 2007 (Junior College)

Jake Johnson was from South Carolina and while I can't confirm it, I'm betting that you'll find him on the roster of South Carolina State University this fall (if he hasn't given up football).

Courtney Abbott played at Florida State, apparently didn't keep up academically, and went to the JC in Mississippi. If he was able to right his ship I'd guess that he will return to Florida State.

      McNeese State (11/18/24)

      We had everything going for us and a victory against McNeese State would launch us into a a home game against Oregon State on Monday. We'd be undefeated at 4-0, victory over BIG10 school, and looking to a possible sellout. Then... someone again decided "why don't we for for some reason wear meaningless bad luck black uniforms so that we can screw up everything?" We did and it had the predictable effect. OUR COLOS ARE GREEN AND WHITE. NEVER WEAR BLACK. NEVER, UNLESS YOU PLAN TO LOSE.

      McNeese State (11/18/24)

      Listened to Hodge's postgame interview with Hank and Dave. A rough summary: Hodge takes the "lion's share" of the blame for the offense at the end. The offense and the inability to defend without fouling was the difference down the stretch. McNeese's ability to get to the FT line, finish around the rim and our inability to finish around the rim were big reasons why we lost. McNeese came out more physical than us. Dave complimented the bench's box score stats. Hodge mentioned that Jossell needs to stay out of foul trouble -- that's the second game in a row. We needed Jossell out there to match McNeese's athleticism. Jossell is one of the few players on the roster who can just blow by people. McNeese is the heavy favorite to repeat as Southland winners (I think we all knew that already).

      OOC scheduling for games at the Supet Pit has always been surprisingly hard for us. Now that we are in the AAC, you would think we could get some decent names here beyond one good program a season.
