I'd Like To Know More About Vizza

I can read all the stats, but some of you have actually seen this kid fling it around with our current WRs. Too bad those posts are buried in ridiculous Meager/Vizza/Tune/WW threads that are going nowhere at the pace of 5 pages/day.

For those of you that have seen him, care to elaborate here what your impressions are? accuracy, confidence, strength, mobility, etc....I've seen Rodge. Perhaps some Vizza video is due? And, pleasepleaseplease, dont' turn this into a debate including Meager, Tune, and WW. thanks

I have many friends who have seen him play. Great leader, fierce competitor, and a kid who just now is beginning to mature body wise. He took a threw for over 742 yards in the final two games of the season, almost 500 total yards in th STATE FINAL.....Look at the video, the kid can play.........my friends in San Antonio tell me he has a tremendous work ethic and backs down from no one.

Everyone knows what Riley can do. Riley has all the intangibles. This will make the program bettter to have the two battle for it. The cream always rises to the top. Both kids could have gone to many different schools but chose UNT because of Todd Dodge.

You have to feel for the Vizza kid. But at the same time, you knew it was inevitable that Riley was headed here to play, so did Vizza, he had to have known that this was most probable.

We have two high quality athletes that bring a lot to the table. Vizza has one season to do it (this year) or he might transfer like Sneed did at Texas. Unfortunately, that is the life of D-1 football. Vizza either wins the job for four seasons or he is gone after this year.

Riley will Red shirt or immediately play his true freshman season, it will depend on the 2007 season. Todd will give the ball to Riley............... if the Meager-Vizza project does not work out.

Riley's comments are "I expect to play early on." Enough said..............He wouldn't say that without TD's approval.

I agree. I see Todd Dodge as a very ethical person. He recruited Don Giovanni Vizza to play QB for UNT. Vizza will get a fair shot at the QB position and Coach Dodge will go with the best person for the position. Remember, this is D1A college football, not high school.

I agree completely I think both are very talented kids and very competitive. There should be a great QB battle and yes if Riley doesn't red-shirt and he wins the job as a freshman than yes Vizza probably will transfer but I think a lot of people are under estimating Vizza and the benefit he will have of playing this coming year at the D-1 level.

All I know is...we appear to FINALLY be in a decent position at the QB position, especially once we work out the initial kinks...

Let's also be honest - in this offense the quarterback will run the ball. At the D-I level you take some big hits. Having depth at the quarterback position in this type of prolific offense is important. Dodge wants this program where you have more than one guy capable of running the show.

Gee my head is spinning after watching those videos. Looks like a Rodge clone. Fast as hell, finds the open man and a sweet touch on the outside shoulder when he has to. Does anyone realize how much fun it's going to be to watch our QB battles for the next two August camps?
