GIOVANNI VIZZA

Passing ......3,278......37 TDs

Rushing ...... 667 ......7 TDs

RILEY DODGE

Passing......4,300......54 TDs

Rushing.....1,300......13 TDs

These boys not only know how to fling the ball, they can tuck it and run :D

We might need to yell "Where's the ball" with everyone pointing to the opponents end zone

Did Vizza play any other positions in HS besides QB?

Apparently not. He was an unknown in DCTF's 2005 edition. In the 2006 mag, he is the player to watch, having thrown for more than 2000 yards.

Talk about your overnight success, right?

What I like about this situation is that Dodge has the capability to properly coach the QBs on our roster now, and he can make great use of their talent, which means solid QBs for the next 1-2 seasons from Meager/Wilson/Phillips. Then, we have Vizza and Dodge coming in which not only makes us deeper at QB, but it makes us deeper with great talent that'll be ready to go when their time comes. Looks like we have that security at QB that we've always wanted.

This could be really fun. With the quality of athletes this group of QB's is turning in to you could have a lot of possibilities to get 2 or more on the field at the same time in certain situations. In the right situation it might drive the other team a little nuts if you lined a couple in the backfield and one in the slot. Put your slot in motion before the snap and then it's anyones guess who may end up with the ball.

A couple of seasons ago, New Mexico St. did that very same thing. Several times throughout the game they would run 2 QB's in the huddle and switch them up at the line of scrimmage.

Either way, their offense still stunk.

Yes, but they just didn't have the athletes. This past year they were the #3 offense in the entire country but with a defense that was pathetic. If NMS can get some stop troops, they could start making waves, at least in the WAC.

Well... their team stunk, but they have attracted some decent athletes at QB down there in NMSU land. Back in their Sun Belt days, I always thought that they were a few good defenders away from being a pretty special team.

They had the team and the athletes to go bowling during three of those four years, they just didn't have the coach. And you have to feel for that NMSU team in '01 because they had us. Jee whiz they freakin had us good in that game in Las Cruces aka...The Miracle in the Desert. All they had to do was kneel on the ball for a minute and a half and it was over. We had no time outs left, clock was running and their little running back was peeling off 6 and 7 yards at a time. In fact I think that is why they kept running it, thinking they were going to run the score up on us. Got greedy and then WHAMO! Craig Jones dislodged that ball and Hall and company took it the other way for the win in the final seconds.

Which reminds me. Is it too late to get things straight around here?: The Gary DeLoach Football Practice Facility.
