Ummm...does Vizza know this??? Should be some interesting competition next year, OR could be Riley redshirts...

Either way, does this mean we have Coach Dodge for 4-5 years now??? :)

Yes, that's the best news of all this. No more worrying that the UT/Riley situation might lure him away after a couple seasons here. :)

My guess... if Vizza does well this year, then Riley red-shirts (puts him two years behind Vizza ) .... if the QB situation goes poorly then he doesn't.

yep, completely agree. This will start a good 2 year QB rotation for us...

The competition will make both better. Viazza was Class 4A player of the year and led Alamo Heights to the championship. Riley was 5A offensive player of the year and led SLC to the top. Since when have we had two QB's like this in the house at the same time? It will also make Meager better, because all these QB's will be learning from each other as they compete. It's not just good athletes that fuel the good programs, it's the fact that the good athletes still have to compete with other good ones and nobody can rest on their laurels.

      McNeese State (11/18/24)

      We had everything going for us and a victory against McNeese State would launch us into a a home game against Oregon State on Monday. We'd be undefeated at 4-0, victory over BIG10 school, and looking to a possible sellout. Then... someone again decided "why don't we for for some reason wear meaningless bad luck black uniforms so that we can screw up everything?" We did and it had the predictable effect. OUR COLOS ARE GREEN AND WHITE. NEVER WEAR BLACK. NEVER, UNLESS YOU PLAN TO LOSE.

      McNeese State (11/18/24)

      Listened to Hodge's postgame interview with Hank and Dave. A rough summary: Hodge takes the "lion's share" of the blame for the offense at the end. The offense and the inability to defend without fouling was the difference down the stretch. McNeese's ability to get to the FT line, finish around the rim and our inability to finish around the rim were big reasons why we lost. McNeese came out more physical than us. Dave complimented the bench's box score stats. Hodge mentioned that Jossell needs to stay out of foul trouble -- that's the second game in a row. We needed Jossell out there to match McNeese's athleticism. Jossell is one of the few players on the roster who can just blow by people. McNeese is the heavy favorite to repeat as Southland winners (I think we all knew that already).

      OOC scheduling for games at the Supet Pit has always been surprisingly hard for us. Now that we are in the AAC, you would think we could get some decent names here beyond one good program a season.
