Whatever happened to the very good running back Gainesville had (Purvis?) that played several years ago? I think we were recruiting him but he was rated as one of the best running backs in the state and had big time offers.

After high school Terrius Purvey went to Blinn Junior college, but quit before the football season started... he was the 6th rated running back in the nation, but last I heard he was living with his mom and working in Carrolton.. Terrius was by far the best running back i've ever seen in high school, he could stop on a dime and be back up to full speed in just a couple of steps.. He was an awesome athlete he was the sixth man on our state champion basketball team as a freshman, and ran for over 2000 yards on the road to a state title his junior year.. I wish he woulda stuck with football after high school but he let a few off the field problems catch up to him.. Terrius is a smart kid who has gotten mixed up w/ the wrong crowds in the past hopefully he will change that and maybe give football another shot someday..

Thanks Keith, I watched him play one time at Gainesville and he ended up with over 200 yards rushing on 10-12 carries. Wish he could sign on with NT.

I helped coach Terrius' team when he played 5th and 6th grade Boys Club league football in Gainesville. His talent was amazing, even at that age.

I seem to remember us having some problems with his attitude, though.

GreenNawlinsVet...you helped us with that team, right? Didn't we have to bench him a few times and make him run extra in practices for his mouth? Or am I thinking of someone else?

No dub your thinking right. He was our team, but the big head attitude was deffintly a problem.

Sadly, it was very much fed by his family...

Scrotty, how's everything with you and Zippy? PM me.

Saw Purvey play several times on their run to the state championship, simply an amazing talent! It's a shame he isn't playing somewhere. Isn't his father a cop in Gainesville?
