It's the off season for sure. Froggies are rolling in the aisles, laughing on their board.

Post: #1TCU has expressed interest at rejoining CUSA

According to an interview on Memphis radio, Memphis AD mentioned that TCU has made "overtures" about returning to Conference USA (lol, guess the grass wasn't greener after all, eh froggies).

Arkansas-Little Rock, Fresno State, Boise State, & Middle Tennessee State has put out "feelers" in the event Tulane folded it's division 1 sports programs and an opening opened up.

RC said MTSU isn't even going to be considered for admission even if Tulane was no longer a member, but he believes it is a non-subject because Tulane is fast getting their sports programs back on their feet.

MeanGreen61-

You should post this report on the "blueraiderzone.com"-

This will really light them up!

Maybe cool off their "we are better than you" attitudes!

Gee--the muts sound just like the $muts!

On the arrogance of Memphis and CUSA. As far as TCU, I doubt if it was a serious inquiry, that incompetent Memphis AD would have announced it to the world. It is amazing to me that CUSA thinks they can look down on anyone.

More panties in a wad, Charlie? Dude, this report surprises nobody. Memphis hates us. We know that. It's virtually a non-issue. We know where we stand with CUSA and as long as Memphis is in that league, we won't have a place. You think Southern Methodist is just going to sit back on their butts and let North Texas waltz right into Conference USA?? You remember when CUSA was expanding and North Texas was a candidate for the final spot? Who do you think was the most vocal against UNT's addition? How about SMU, Rice, and Houston? Don't be so surprised. At least UTEP is so far away in the western part of the state that they are pretty much in their own region away from SMU, Rice, and Houston's markets.

CUSA has their players. They don't want in-state competition within their own conference. They made an exception for Rice and SMU because they were frantically looking for some replacements for their core that was swiped away by the Big East. It was too many to lose at one time for them.

And I agree with the article about Tulane. Tulane is not going to fold. If that program even remotely looks like it might tank, somebody with a crapload of money and sympathy toward the Katrina-ravaged campus is going to step up.

In 5 years, after Todd Dodge has made UNT the talk of the nation and JJ/Tic has returned the Mean Green to the NCAA tournament a few times, and we have just finished our inaugural season in our new football stadium, it will be North Texas looking down their noses at C-USA.

I say we hold out for a Mountain West bid.

That is if Dodge is still here. If he has the success that everyone is dreaming about I'm sure a larger BCS school will come sweep him up rather quickly.

I say we hold out for a Mountain West bid.

Then if we ever get close to that someone will say 'I say we hold out for a Big XII bid'

Well, just the fact that we'd be out of the Sun Belt and holding out for a BCS league would be an improvement. Some of us at least want to see some improvement. It's pretty sad that the best conference UNT has ever been in was the Missouri Valley and that was more than 30 years ago. It's about time UNT actually got picked for a good conference. IF UNT builds to a 'national level' in football and basketball while acquiring a new stadium, folks will come callin'. NOTHING HAPPENS UNLESS YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN.

I understand and I think everyone wants to see some improvement. I think everyone agrees anything is an improvement from the Belt. I would love to be in the MWC but dont think we should, if the opp. presented itself, pass up a move to another conference.

I have learned to be content in all situations yet continue to run the race with perseverence.
