Taking Out the Trash

"We're all going to do it, everybody," Paterno told the Harrisburg Patriot-News after a banquet in suburban Philadelphia. "Not just the kids that were involved. 'Cause we're all in it together. This is a team embarrassment. I wouldn't call it anything much other than that."

---Talk about peer pressure... The guilty guys will hear a lot of comments from the rest... and maybe team members will try to see that teammates stay out of trouble. It will likely also keep some of the the arrogant ones feet on the ground as well.

I wonder how the University of Miami would have handled the same situation in light of the on-field brawl with Florida International ?

I like the notion of the team not being held to the same standard as the rest of the school, but to a higher one.

good for Joe Pa, I hope the school backs him up. Of course I now wonder how many superstars will not come since they may actually be held accoutable for their actions.

Athletes that are being recruited should notice something like that. I think his 363 wins, national championships, and 42 years at the same school speaks for itself. Its good to see there are coaches who still care about making men out of their players (yes, Dodge is one too) then sacrificing integrity for winning games (Miami, FIU, OU, SMU way back when)
