Yep, just another off-season questions.

Who would you rather have for conference mates & which group would put the most folks into Fouts ?

A. TCU, New Mexico, Air Force, Colorado State, Brigham Young, Utah ?

B. Rice, Tulsa, Houston, SMU, Southern Miss, Memphis ?

C. Arkansas State, UL-Lafayette, Troy, Middle Tennessee ?

Although A might put more people in the stands, I'd still take B as conference mates, especially if the other 2-5 conference mates were no farther away than say, Alabama.

Of the A group, I believe that TCU, Brigham Young and Air Force would draw near-capacity crowds. The others should attract crowds of at least 20,000. At the other end of the spectrum, however, we would travel only to TCU in any great numbers. Everyone else is more than a day's drive away.

Our natural rival should be Houston. We are large, state universities similar in size. We are in the two largest metropolitan areas of the state. We will each have somewhat legendary former high school coaches leading our football programs. We have a lot in common and should be playing each other every year, regardless of conference.

SMU would draw well because of our proximity and our bitterness toward them. The others would attract at least the attendance of the remainder of group A, that is to say, in the 20,000 range or better. All of those listed in group B are within a day's drive and would allow our fans to follow our teams.
