I was checking out Rivals and they had stated that the ACC put in a proposal for an early signing period in football. I just wanted to get everyones thoughts on this idea. I'm not sure if this is something that would help or hurt NT since we're not sure what TD can do recruiting wise. It seems as though to me it would be a good idea to help stop back-tracking by both schools and athletes. But then I worry that this may lead to bigger schools scooping everyone in the early period and leaving nothing behind for the likes of us. As long as it doesn't turn into basketball where you have HS freshman committing to schools.

Would be a very good idea but the PAC-10 has voted against the proposal 9-1 stating some of their schools are goegraphically isolated and must travel further to find talent.

Will be a tough nut to crack as the PAC 10 has a great deal of power and influence.

Seems to me that could be a two-edged sword. The big schools are still going to get the top talent but if they sign too many early then they could miss out on a late-bloomer that just tears it up as a senior. That might open it up for some of the lowere ranked schools to walk away with some great talent.
