Here are the bigs listed on the local Juco's

Do you know anything about them? Maybe we can get some of them to walk-on.

I'm pretty sure the Mokeski boys are the sons of former NBA player Paul Mokeski, who is an assistant for the D-League's Fort Worth Flyers.

I haven't seen or heard anything about any of those guys, but allow me to throw a name out there that might be a prospect. Has anyone heard anything lately about Cole Dabney

The following was cut and pasted from a Fall of 2005 post on a Cornell message board:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, a non-Cornell recruiting matter, Texas Hoops reports that Yale is in the top two for Cole Dabney, a monsterous 6-10 and 260 pound center from Austin, Texas. He already has offers from Northwestern, Colgate, Army, Albany, Binghampton, and UT-Arlington, but he's got programs such as Michigan involved, as well as UNC-Wilmington, Yale, Tulsa, SMU, and North Texas among many others. Dabney said Yale and North Texas are in his top two choices. Although he is not in the Texas Hoops Top 100, this is one big kid. He has a 3.4 GPA and old 1240 SAT score. Where in the hell are the other Ivies?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We liked him, but not quite enough to offer him a scholarship, and he liked NT and Yale. North Texas and Yale....the young man has good taste. Later, he decided he liked TCU so much that he turned down offers from Albany,Centenary,Youngstown St, Binghamton, Northwestern, Army, La Tech, McNeese St, SE La, and UTA and walked on at TCU.

Dabney did not play one minute for TCI in 2006-07 and I have not seen that he has been offered a scholarship for next season either. TCU is a very expensive school for a walk-on. Maybe we are ready to offer him a scholarship now, or he might want to walk on here.

Since he didn't play at all at TCU, I wonder if he falls into the Barnett or Howerton big man category?
