I'm still feeling my way around this new system, tyring to see how to set it up so that it is as easy to use as the last board.

How do I get the topic to show that I've already read all the posts in that topic, or that I don't want to read any of the current posts. I don't want the topic to go away, something might be posted that I want to read.

The icon that is supposed to show new posts remains after I've read and closed the topic, why does it stay like that and what do I have to do to make it change?

A red "burning" page or folder icon = Unread messages exist

Read messages are indicated by a white page or folder

Follow this link: http://www.gomeangreen.com/board/index.php...c715&act=SF&f=1

scroll down to the bottom and you will see the legend. Any red, "burning" or "glowing" folder or notebook basically means that there is something unread. If it is white it means that you have already read everything. These little page or topic icons are located at the far left of the page on the same line as the topic or message that they represent.

Hope this helps. The very best way to make yourself more comfortable wit the format is to just screw around on it for awhile.

I saw the explaination of the icons, but I don't seem to be able to get them to work in the same session. I have looked at each entry and still have the 'hot' icon.

I know that I can mark a whole folder as read, but can I mark a whole thread read?

I don't think it is updated until you sign off and then sign back in. That way each time you sign on you can see what is new since you last checked. I wish it was real time too.
