I think I gotta go with George Herman Ruth. He's undoubtedly the greatest sports icon in American sports history and he was dominant not only at the plate but on the mound. After that I think it would be a tie between Gretzky and Jordan.

Ya in my opinion I think he is. Granted, more people tend to chose players from the past 30-40 years because of the television, media, and money involved in sports all together. When Ruth was playing all you had was radio and yet he still dominated the sport.

When Ruth was playing all you had was white players and yet he still dominated the sport. :unsure:
