Krystal in Denton is also temporarily changing its colors as the restaurant on Loop 288 is now serving green eggs and green grits throughout the weekend. Customers will only be able to get regular eggs and grits upon request because, according to Denton franchise owner David Friedman, green is the standard for the weekend.

Krystal is just happy to support North Texas and the Mean Green, and just to be a part of the frenzy, Friedman said.

I might have to go eat at Krystal tonight and check it out, haha.

This is it right here! This is what separates decent college communities from great ones...everyone buying into and getting behind the local university. Go to aTm and see the maroon McDonalds or go to Tech and see the TT flags flying for a solid mile on the way into the stadium. Kudos to Krystal for trying to "get with the program.(pun intended)"

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. I really don't enjoy Krystal's but I will have to go by and get something just to let them know how much I appreciate this move. You are right Emmitt, this is what makes the difference between towns that support their teams and the ones that don't. AND this is even a National chain not just some local place.

Yes, Emmitt....I expressed my concern to the manager of our MacDonald's (that is next to campus) last year when they remodeled and changed their color scheme from green and white to bronze.

At one time that McDonald's was decorated with photos of NT athletics all over the walls and even lime green football hemets with worm decals hanging from the light fixtures.

It irks me that the 2 local McDonalds (NTB & Wal-Mart) don't opt to carry the green, mint Shamrock Shakes that some locations offer in March.

Me: Do you have the Shamrock Shakes?

Them: Yes, we have shakes.

Me: No, the mint shake.

Them: Yes, we have shake machines.

Me: No, the green, mint-flavored shakes!

Them: Oh, no, we don't have those.

I remember that from the late 1970's. It was great!

The GREEN grits and eggs made my "stool" MEAN GREEN this morning.

I think I will let it float for a while.....it does look pretty awe inspiring.

WOW...Not the first thing I wanted to read when i got to work this morning...

Whole New Meaning to GO MEAN GREEN!

I never found any place in DFW that carried them when I was looking for them.
