Memphis to the B.E. and UNT to CUSA is viable in the "next" conference shake ups/expansions.

In the past Memphis has expressed interest in the B.E. to follow Louisville.

Until the next "big" shakedown or shakeup UNT will still have to take care of business. Looks like that UNT has put itself in the spotlight on the Men's side of BB and FB.

That's an understatement! They felt absolutely SNUBBED that South Florida was chosen over Memphis.

Football-wise, USF has moved from Div I-AA to BCS conference in FOUR years! Frankly, I'm jealous.

Regionally speaking maybe CUSA would be the best option for UNT but from a conference aspect...is CUSA the best? I really like the Mountain West Conference and think that conference is really destined to make a run at the BCS conferences in a few years.

I don't know if we could afford the Mountain West.

We probably would not make a move for a year or two, so I'd say let's see what revenue looks like.

MWC would definitely be a huge plus!

agree totally. MWC would be great, but moving up from sbc to mwc might be a bit ambitious. We might need to focus on cusa for the time being. I'm sure they would love to have us since we made the big dance.

Well, a plus is that the MWC is a nine-team conference. Adding a Texas team would allow them to split into East-West divisions (Imagine that! A Texas team in the "East")

East:

UNT

TCU

Air Force

Colorado State

New Mexico State

West:

BYU

UNLV

SDSU

Utah

Wyoming

we need to realize that this is only one year. We need consistency in all of our athletic programs to be considered as well as attendance needs to be up. Give it 2 winning football seasons, 1 more NCAA tourney, winning soccer seasons (they made the ncaa tourney 4 times this decade), and consistency in the rest of our programs, as well as the addition of a baseball team.

A.F.,Col.State, and NMS are probably as close or closer than FAU and FIU. I see your point, it would give TCU the traveling partner and expose more of the metroplex and east tx to the west.

I agree, we need more wins... but I sense something special is happening with the Mean green. Bataille and Villareal are DEDICATED to making UNT a nationally recognized school.

And I wish I could give you a ride, but I'm flying. Road trips are for you young'uns!

      2025 Projected Depth Chart

      I know this is still subject to change, but with a lot of transfers signed I figure we have enough to get a pretty good idea on what our depth chart will look like next year. This includes all scholarship players and walkons who are in the depth chart. Did my best guess based on Sam Houston’s positions listed on their defensive depth chart (12 spots based on the packages) and where our guys were listed, as well as their guys who we are bringing over. Took some best guesses with guys who weren’t in the two deep/newcomers. Save your comments about how the transfer portal sucks and this could change so much between now, etc. That was always the case this many months out, but we have a pretty good idea based on the guys who actually play or we are bringing in. The bottom of the depth chart guys leaving is expected but doesn’t really change things.       So similar to Jimerson's recruitment in that nobody really wanted to give either a scholarship at QB. Thanks for the insight. Colorado just signed ESPN's #2 overall prospect in Julian Lewis at QB. If Lewis works out, how does it benefit either party for Jimerson to go sit on the bench behind a top QB prospect? They also signed one of Jimerson's teammates so clearly they aren't high on Jimerson as it is.
