I work for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. We have three locations down in New Orleans. If you need a hotel room, send me a PM and I can get a Friends and Family rate for you at one of the locations. Usually it's between 79-99 per night. Bourbon Orleans on Bourbon Street, Wyndham Whitney on Poydras and Wyndham Canal Place on Rue Iberville.

My father and I stayed at the Wyndham Canal Place for one of the New Orleans Bowls...a very nice hotel, relatively close to the Arena and the Harrah's is right across the street.

I'm checking with all of the properties as we speak to see what the best deal is. I know that two are already starting to fill up pretty full but usually I can pull some strings anyways. ;)

Did you get my PM? I would like to reserve 2 rooms if possible.

Ok, Canal Place just informed me they can't do anymore discounted rooms. They just booked "a team" in and the team's school is also blocking 100 rooms. I'm checking to see if it's UNT.

Still checking on requests for the other two locations.

I just called the Astor, quoted me $199/night

wow, thats the place I was talking about. when I called this morning, it was $169. I just went ahead and booked it cause I was thinking Id rather have a place to stay than worry about saving $50... but 199, that seems absurd. Make sure you tell them you are with North Texas.

I won't have an answer from Bourbon and Whitney until tomorrow morning.

You can get some pretty good deals on priceline right now. Three or four start hotels (like the Hilton) at 79-89 per night. Just FYI.
