That's what we will hear every 10 minutes or so during the game on friday by thousands of Memphis fans as they cheer on their team in UNIFIED SUPPORT!. It makes a huge, positive impression on the team and the viewing audience when they hear a school show unison like that.

So, I'll say it once again. And this next friday is exactly why I have preached and asked and talked this subject up so much the past two years. North Texas needs a simple, unified chant that has (gasp!) a BEGINNING and an END. We did this once in Lafayette last week and the few students and fans in our section were surprised how well it sounded and how easy it was to do.

LET'S!

GO!

MEAN!

GREEN!,

FIGHT!

FIGHT!

FIGHT!

I know we like the "North" and "Texas" chant but it goes on way too long and it sounds pathetic after it starts to fade off the 4th or 5th repeated time. And of course I know this won't get done for the tourney now as there are only 5 days till game time. But I can't help think of all the down time we have had since we last tried to do it in N.O. in '04. Alumni, students and fans on GMG.com voted for this chant and paid to have large, screen-printed signs for the cheerleaders to hold up as each word was to be yelled out. Also several GMG.com posters had several thousand flyers printed up and handed them out to the audience as they entered the Super Dome to explain what was to happen. But for whatever reason, after telling us they would do it if we got them the signs, the cheerleaders dropped the ball on it. Not sure what other course we can go through at this time but I hope to come up with something soon on it. If you have an idea to get this going let us know.
