watching party in Houston somewhere? Buff Wild Wings in the village?

Thought of two reasons why BWW Rice might not be the best place for us, not only for Sunday but also for watching the game:

- parking stinks

*** UH & Rice play each other in the CUSA semifinal - what if the winner then also wins the championship? BWW will be a "home" bar, and we'll be crowded out.

What we really need is a place where someone knows the manager... Ironically, I seem to remember H-towngreen knowing someone who works at BWW. H-town, you around?

I always come back to suggesting SRO NW Mall since not only are they fairly centrally located, but they can give us our own screen & sound. But I'm open to other suggestions - anyone?

All of the conference tournament games are over when the selection show comes on. Otherwise, they couldn't actually select a bracket without knowing all of the final results.

Great news! One concern though. There is a chance that this event could generate extremely large crowds. *small chance*. Has the AD thought of this? On a semi-related note - same questions RE: Todd Dodge's pre-season athletic dept. dinner and fan meet/greet. Anyone think this could be standing room only?? Where would they set up cameras?

---It has been done before when games ran long because of OT or whatever... at that point they know who is in the final game anyway and how it is going... The real problem would be if there was a big surprise in the final ..for example Rice against Memphis and Rice would be doing well and might win.... Memphis is going to get a bid if they win or not... Rice would not. I am sure it happed to a Big-XII game once... it was not finished but both teams were going anyway. It may have been over by the time their location was announced but not when the show started.

Well the selection show will be on every TV, I imagine, so Im not really worried about having our own TV or anything. Regarding the game itself, yes, probably the NW Mall will be best, but then again, we will be playing a #1 or #2 seed- we'll be on every TV anyways...

I understand the thing about Rice and being down in the Rice Village, but Memphis is playing at home and they already smacked Rice once a couple weeks ago with a 99-63 blowout. Memphis is 16-0 in C-USA play, I just don't see them dropping one, at home with the #1 seed on the line... not that I wouldn't love to see Rice do it. I'm not sure Rice will win today anyways.

But I'll go wherever there are mean green fans...

I just emailed Rick V and told him that students did not receive an email inviting them to the arrival of the bus, and we still haven't received one for the Selection Show.

I don't know what email system you use, but I have student email (EagleMail) and I've still received nothing. Another student on this board said he's received nothing, and several of my classmates have said they've received no emails announcing either event.

Hmm, maybe I registered to receive updates from the athletic department, I'm not sure though. Hopefully it get's sent out today for people who haven't got anything. We have GOT to have a lot of people for this.

Our president got the email about it and passed it on to us today. I also have a Facebook event going, "Selection Sunday at the Athletic Center," for people to invite people to invite people. I can't recall if Trey sent a message to the new Pit Crew group, but he's usually on top of things, as we got one for the Wednesday arrival.
