With Clemson getting knocked off today, Mean Green stock is rising.

I think now the play-in game possibility is eliminated.

That's really good news. After all the media attention on Tuesday night, it seems little 'ol North Texas is getting some respect from the critics.

I heard several radio stations commenting on the range of Calvin Watson. Some were even kidding that he could sink a three from a diffrent zip code.

This is fun.

Yeah, winning is fun. This is kind of like the euphoria before some of those bowl games.

Just looked on cbssportsline.com and they have us projected to be the 16th seed along with Weber St. and Delaware State. They have Central Connecticut State vs. Mississippi Valley State for the play in game.

I think this is more exciting than the lead up to the bowls. It may be because I am a basketball fan first but in the bowls we know where we stand and who we play...here its alittle stressful yet laid back ll at once...

WE ARE IN THE TOURNEY...I am stoked!

I doubt CBS knows anything about the brackets, but I do agree that we won't be in the play-in game. Also, that MF'n Super Pit better be packed with fans, especially students! This is a pretty big deal, how many of those cameras do you think they send out? I would like for NT to show their support for this.

Go Mean Green!!

Well it's actually at the Athletic Center, not the Super Pit. But yes, it better be packed as well. I know I'm a student and I'm going. There's a chance to be on national TV, why not go??

---Winning in athletics gets a university a lot of cheap publicity and respect...... We need to keep it up.... Hope a lot of the students are catching on to what it can do for us and show up at sporting events in the future. By us winning a spot well ahead of time, it allows us enjoy "the ride" more.....It give fans time to soak it all in... ... By the way UCLA just lost to unranked California... they had been listed as a possible first seed and maybe a first round opponent of UNT.

Hope there are a lot of people present for the CBS thing!!!!

Go Mean Green Machine.!!!!

It's on the old Eagle Point Golf Course. Father down the street than the bonfire site, directly across from the old Liberty Christian school.

They updated the article on mgs.com.

This is awesome! If they say NOLA, there will be a lot more cheering than if they say Chicago or BFE or wherever.

What would be cool if coach Todd Dodge was there too along side with JJ and etc. You know that the commentators would atleast mention TD being there since he's really big and he's made national news several times. So we get great pub for basketball afcourse and start getting some early pub for the upcoming Mean Green football season. If not then I think its ATLEAST worth a try.

Geez... here it is Friday morning and UNT still hasn't sent out an invitation via Eaglemail to the students.

And they wonder why nobody shows up for these events???

I thought students got all the "general" mail that goes to everyone on campus. I got a "general" e-mail yesterday evening in Groupwise about the event. I've seen others complaining about getting everything else in their "official mailbox" that goes to that same list.

With all due respect to Coach Dodge, I doubt that any of the CBS basketball commentators would know who he is if he was onscreen...the only reason they would know Coach Jones is because they will probably do a short interview with him in the fill time they have before announcing the brackets...something like this...

Jim Nantz: You're looking now at one of the locations we will be following today, Denton, Texas, home of the Sun Belt Conference Champion North Texas Mean Green, who last made the tournament in 1988...their coach Johnny Jones joins us right now...Coach, congratulations on the conference championship...it's been a long time between appearances in the tournament for the Mean Green, how excited is your team about being back???...

It should make for some good publicity for the program, if nothing else.

Nope. Not a thing. Someone over in IT needs to fix that. Or they need to hire me as the school's new Associate Vice President for Computing and Chief Technology Officer.
