TexasHoops.com Recruiting Staff

When Joseph Fulce made the decision to head to prep school, he went in with the intention of improving his grades and his game for the next level. Little did the slashing 6-foot-7, 180-pound swingman originally from Plano know that he'd also be working on his college recruitment. Now done with a successful campaign at Massanutten Military Academy in Virginia, Fulce is focused on figuring out whta will be the next step for him.

"The season ended up finishing pretty good," Fulce said. "We ended our last four-to-five games good and picked up some wins - we did well in a tournament where we lost in the finals to Hargrave (Military Academy). I've been doing pretty good myself, putting up numbers and all that. In a game against the UNC JV team, I had something like 21 points and 15 rebounds, and that was a great experience."

Over the entire year, Fulce knew he made serious progress with his game. "I improved a lot," Fulce said. "I got stronger and got a better nose for the ball - alot of it is just looking and paying close attention to detail. I got better on my footwork and my defense, knowing how defenses are and how to play zone."

"Also, I learned that practice time is very valuable," he continued. "With all the games and teams that we played, I really learned a lot. Plus, with all the discipline of being at a military school, that helped too."

Now that the year is over, Fulce is simply concentrating on his schoolwork - and his recruitment. "Right now, there are still a lot of different schools calling and talking to me," Fulce said. "I'm about to start narrowing downt he schools that I really want to look at and visit."

Fulce indicated that he's received offers from Providence, UNC-Wilmington, Illinois State, and North Texas, and others such as Illinois, Baylor, Texas Tech, Virginia, and Virginia Tech have been in contact. "What they're all saying is that they're looking for someone at the three-four spot," Fulce said. "I'm trying to go where I can fit in, especially with my style of play. I'm still trying to figure out if I want to go mid or high-major. I need to start narrowing it down pretty soon, so I'm starting to get serious about it."

Once the NCAA Tournament winds down and schools start really hosting prospects on campus, things will really heat up with Fulce so stay tuned.

Texas Hoops Analysis: JOSEPH is a fluid athlete who glides to the hole and finishes with very good body control in the lane. He has a nice stroke from 16 feet and can hit the 3 point shot. He runs the floor well, is active without the ball, has good hands, is a nice rebounder and has a long and lean basketball build.

Rich Young is currently filling the 3-4 role. Fulce would be a welcome replacement.

He is rated a 3 * so should be an impact player. Really wondering about who we sign in BB....Hope the BB results in even better players....like a top 100 player as a freshman instead of a transfer. If I remeber we have 6 Jrs. so we really need to start filling those slots before next year.

Fulce would be a welcome edition to the mean green. After watching him play from 7th grade on (we went to rival high schools, actually played with him in summer league) I can say hes a pretty good ball player. I mean, he led PSHS to the 5A state title last year, and we could use some more title experience
