Tonight had to be one of the best performances of this team for this entire year.

Several guys in double figures, huge spread in rebounds.

Our guys out hustled the other team.

FG% was good.

Just an all around great performance, I think it was the best this year.

Kendric Davis attoned for the team's miserable performance behind the line last Saturday. Whatever intensity and determination they found before tonight's game needs to be bottled up and stored for the next three pregames.

Any props for JJ and the staff for getting them prepared? I notice people are quick to bash, but not so quick to praise when we win like this. Whatever it is, congrats to everyone on taking the next step forward.!

JJ and staff definitely had the guys prepared tonight, and we basically stepped on their throat from early in the first half on. They had the one run at the beginning of the 2nd, but for the most part we were up double digits the whole game.

I've followed NT basketball in one degree or another since I was about 9 years old. This is our best team since our SLC champion/NCAA squad in '86-87 IMHO. I know we had a few other squads get to the SLC final(Jankovich did at least twice that I remember and Gales did too), but this is a stronger conference and a better team we have right now.

UL-Monroe was always our main basketball rival in my childhood(then NE LA). It was either us or them nearly every year it seemed. So it seems fitting we have to go thru them to continue on.

Beat the WarHawks.

NT should have won this game and did. Great game by Stewart, Davis and Sturns. Stewart had a break out game and I don't want to read any comments about Sturns, he had a great game. The others played well also and I agree it was one of NT better Belt performances but IMO a notch or two below the two WKU wins and the Troy blowout. NT should beat ULM.

To be negative, I don't guess anyone cares about the girls awful performance against SA. They actually shoot less than 22 percent for the game. It will be interesting next year to see if Slinker survives. Only losing one player, she is bound to have a much better team which IMO is not all good news. I can see her getting another extension next year despite having little success in 18 years if NT manages to be at least a .500 team.

I just want to say I thought Harold Stewart played a GREAT game tonight. He was getting boards and was in on every play. GMG! Beat Monroe!

Congratulations to NT basketball on 20 wins! Fantastic!

We didn't get there until about 8 minutes left in the first, but as soon as we walked in, the first thing we heard was a roar from inside for another 3.

That game was about as much fun as it's possible to have in the Pit, short of graduation day. Whale of a game, memorable season, and more to come over the next few days.

Congratulations to all -- including the kid who hit from midcourt to win $500 from the bookstore. I hope somebody got his name and stats and confirmed his eligibility.

As soon as I got back to the station from the game we got an apartment fire so I'm just now getting to read up on the game. It was a great game from the beginning, and an entertaining one at that with all the magic moves to the hole. I hope we can continue next week in ULL. But I was very dissapointed in the turnout, especially the students. Where were the 5,000 dorm dwellers tonight? Jeez people, get involved for crying out loud! Your college days only last a short time. Make the most of it.

I trully regret not being there tonight, and I have a feeling many students do as well. I talked nonstop about missing the game during a studio class this afternoon (a 3 hour block class for art majors). Unfortunately we have a major project due (in honor of President Bataille's enauguration) on Monday, unfortunate timing for this game during midterms. School has to take precedent sometimes :D . That probably explains the better attendance in the second half.

Best game and performance of the season, no doubt... This team is better than what their record indicates....

Huge disappointment with the crowd, when I walked in after the half, it looked like there were 1,000 people there, it was pathetic. This game was marketed terribly, all I saw around campus were a few yard signs....Attendance is always a big issue for us at UNT. The crowd enthusiasm was great, I wasnt into the game as I was super tired from studying and tackling a grueling midterm but was glad to see noise being made at our team's amazing offensive performance.

If we play like tonight, we have the tourney wrapped up....Just hope the admin plans something special for that occasion.

Side note: As I drove to the library after the game I walked by the talons and supporters who had just lit the green light on top of the administration bldg. GOD BLESS NORTH TEXAS.........

Anything less than an NIT invite is a huge disappointment..

Michael Sturns was the hardest working man on the court tonight. That guy has no fear.

Yeah, that dude is a special talent in so many ways. If he could just actually finish a few more of those slicing drives to the hole he would seriously quiet most of his detractors. Great breakout job by Davis, and I've been waiting for the very talented Harold Stewart to make his appearance all season. Definitely the best overall performance of the year by the entire team. Let's do it!

That was pretty incredible. I had a pretty good angle on his shots, and he didn't look like he had the length to make it happen on the first couple of mid-courters. Then he wooshed it at the buzzer! Beautiful!! Hopefully a good omen for the rest of the season!! :D

I don't get it either. Three different groups of students asked us who won as we were leaving the game. What's the deal? How could anyone, athletic or not, not enjoy watching THEIR UNIVERSITY's involvement in a good conference tournament basketball game? Go figure.

What is even more impressive is that it is A FIRST ROUND TOURNAMENT WIN!!!!

After so many disapointing seasons before with good teams getting cut down in the first round...it is nice to finally win one.

Now if they can go to the LALA and win another.....hhhummmmm.

I know where some of our students were. They were at Riprock's being total asses as they went back and forth with a group of Aggie fans over their basketball game. (Just as an interesting tidbit...all of the Aggie fans were AGGIE GRADUATES)

Harold Stewart had an incredible game last night. KD was my MVP for the first half, but Stewart was the MVP for the second half, he was all over the place.

Great game for the team last night. Lets keep up the momentum.

As far as the attendance, I was sick to my stomach at the turnout! Pathetic! I was talking to one of the ushers about it and he said a high school game turned out 1400 the night before and I would be shocked if we reached that amount, for a conference tourney game in our best season for almost 30 years. The rec fields had about 100 students on them right before tip off, they weren't studying for mid terms. WTF!

On a side note, how about that kid who won the challenge for the $500 gift certificate to the book store?

Congrats on the win. Your guys really brought it last night. I like your chances in the tournament bracket. UL-M hasn't been good on the road, and you guys have already won in Lafayette. Good Luck.
