What could have been
Was not aware of Corky Nelson's interest and NTSU hiring Tyler instead. Good grief what a stupid decision or perhaps intentional sabotage. Despite Corky's demons, he could recruit in Texas and his potential to win against a big-time opponent was very real. I was a student at UNT when Dennis Parker was hired & his name is mostly what I heard on campus from other students during the search process. Dennis Parker was a H.S. coach from Marshall, TX as I recall. I don't remember Nick Saban being mentioned back then nor reading his name in the NT Daily. Parker could recruit Texas for sure and NT didn't want to pay a real coach's salary back then. But Nick Saban. Dang. -

On a scale of 1 to 10...How would you rate this season so far?
Yes. 6. A 6 to me implies at least with our standards that we’re good but we’re not there yet. Nothing wrong with that (yet) -

Texas State to PAC 12
If you're asking Jared to be forward thinking, good luck. I haven't seen anything he has done that says forward thinking. It takes a real leader/general to take a program and fanbase to higher ground. Right now we have milk toast. -

We have the following losses and people are saying this is a "6"?!?!? I agree that yesterday's game was a total let down, but the overall season is NOT a failure. 7pts McNeese - Tourney bound 4pts Ut St - Tourney bubble 5pts HPoint - Tourney bound 4pts Memphis - Tourney bound, top 20 team 4pts UTSA - BAD LOSS 3pts UAB - Tourney bound if they win today 5pts Temple - BAD LOSS 10pts UAB - Tourney bound if they win today- 1

Money, It Just Means More
The AAC attracts good players, but then loses them all to the power conferences. I really liked our team this year, but no one wanted to play us in the non-con and by the time we made it to conference games, teams had already dropped to the 100-300 range in net rankings. If UNT was at the middle or bottom of a power conference, they would have racked up so many quad 1 wins. But we don't have the money those teams have and had only 3 opportunities with only Memphis in our conference. Penny, Hagerty, and Dainja say AAC teams are being disrespected and that there are good teams and players in our conference. I think they are right, but when you lose 90% of your shooting every year, if given a shot at a good non-conference schedule, how can you get your team ready to compete that quickly? Someone online said that the SEC should change their slogan to the title of this post. Do you think the portal, nil, and net rankings will make it impossible for UNT to get an at large bid in the AAC?
