I'm not going to crap on Brett. Personally, I think he's a nice guy. I think fans on here need to remember, Brett didn't grow up and Mean Green fan, and he didn't graduate from UNT's school of journalism either. He a guy that was hired to be a beat writer. I don't think he has much interest in spinning any North Texas story one way or another. My one knock on Brett is that in all the years he has covered UNT sports, he has never expressed any desire to hold our athletic department to standard comparable to other legit FBS universities. And I think everyone that is invested in Mean Green sports has suffered for that. I hope one day he will write stories that call out the admin, players, and fans. Honesty, is the only path to improvement for our athletics.
King was recruited as a slot receiver by everybody except for UH. Even then, to get King on the field as a true freshman (Greg Ward Jr was a 3 year starter at qb) and the beginning of his sophomore season (Before Kyle Allen and Kyle Postma underperformed) he was a slot receiver.
I don't have a problem with the truth but are you really trying to compare UNT's plight to Notre Dame? I mean they have a solid base of fans and sold out season tickets forever. Our situation is a lot more dicey. I just feel like there is a way to communicate that factoid in the body of the piece versus in the title so everyone can see we shat the bed.
