North Texas picked up one of the top defensive backs in East Texas recently when Kevin Ealey of Brenham committed to play for the Mean Green.

Ealey was a two-time All-District 18-4A selection and was offered a scholarship by UTEP and Houston.

Ealey played both safety and cornerback for Brenham but was recruited as a cornerback by the Mean Green.

Ealey had committed to UNT earlier in the recruiting season and was not a replacement for Birdville wide receiver Jason Martinson, who switched his commitment from UNT to Texas State earlier in the week.

Ealey just proved to be tough to track down after he committed to the Mean Green a few days ago.
