From what I've read, Harold Edwards was a highly regarded recruit. I read his bio on MeanGreenSports, and he was recruited by some good programs. He actually played a fair amount last year. This year... very little. A few cosmetic minutes here and there. I think Mangrum has played more then Edwards. Is he in JJ's dog house? Or perhaps JJ is trying to develop him for prime time Jr. and Sr. play? I can't imagine Edwards is happy sitting on the bench this entire season, nor that JJ would let this good recruit sit out the rest of his time at UNT. Has anyone heard anything on Edwards?

Sorry Harry... I thought I was in the BB forum when I posted. Thanks for sending it over to the proper forum.

You are correct, he has not been used much. My take is that Edwards has not shown enough to get many minutes on what is a very deep team and being kind of a tween-er in size doesn't help. The swing position with Young, Sturns, Davis and Watson is just too strong for Edwards to crack. Edwards is not big or strong enough to compete for time in NT's basic two post offense with Wooden, Stewart, Howerton and Williams. He is just going to have to perform the next time he gets an opportunity and earn more time. This should be easier his junior year with Fleming, Watson, Young and Davis gone.

Learning to play facing the basket, instead of his back to it, has been a tough transition for HE.

Please explain what you mean. Was he considered a post-man in HS?
